Hi People,

How is everyone? good I hope? Long time no speak

So I'm back again bringing news of yet another car as I have realised that A3 as lovely as it is just simply isn't big enough for all that comes with a little one. I was politely told before I bought the A3 I would need something bigger but I obviously thought I knew best

So yesterday I signed on the dotted line for an A7. I have lusted after these cars for so long and managed to secure what I believe to be a very good deal on a factory order. I have played the dealers against each other and ended up having one of my local dealers beat Orange Wheels in terms of discount and monthly payments.

The spec I have gone for is:

A7 3.0TDI Quattro S Line Stronic
Ibis White
20" 5 twin spoke titanium look alloys
Lunar silver interior
Sun protection glass
Folding mirrors
Ambient lighting package
Omission of rear badging

Car looks lovely on the configurator and I think the facelift just adds even more wow factor to an already amazing looking car.

You're probably not familiar with the facelift things as I'm from the dark side but basically it includes;

* Full matrix LED headlights.. That's some clever wizardry if you read up on them that turns individual LED's off when it senses cars coming towards you so that main beam can stay on but you don't blind them. It uses some wizardry with the navigation to know about bends and slip roads and its got some funky indicators front and rear that sweep from inside to out.. Small things please me haha!

* Revised wider single frame grille and bumpers

* Revised exhaust exit pipes which I think look Sexy as hell!!

Anyway, here are a couple of images off the configurator... Just have to wait 12 to 16 weeks now for the order :(

Let me know what you think...

Thanks.. Yes the 3.0TDI is a great engine and super quiet compared the 2.0 in my A3.

There are about 9 wheels to choose from in 19" and 20" format and theyre all FOC so it makes choosing so hard.

All the others just seem so busy IMO. I like the simple lines of the ones I have chosen and they will be far easier to clean!!

A6 Avant I considered and was my second choice if I couldnt get the figuers to stack on this one. Believe it or not the A6 was coming out more PCM albeit a cheaper car by quite an amount because of the massive discount I got on the A7.

Besides... the A6 Avant is a little mundane I guess... The A7 really has some presence to it :D

lovely cars those, pretty quick too :D

Theres something about them. When you see them in the flesh they are very imposing!!

Yes its quick enough and the torque certainly kicks you in the stomach ha.

My neighbour has just bought a 640d M Sport gran Coupe. I looked at one of those as there's some massive discounts on them aswell at the minute but for me they dont give me that belly fizz.. and the boot is still like a saloon and not a big hatch like the A7.. I honestly think and I know ill get shot on here for saying it.. but I honestly think BMW have lost it in the style department with the cars at the minute.. Don't get me wrong they drive amazingly but they aren't half ugly!! Z4's aside obviously!!! :D

Im hopeful to get one as a weekend toy in the next few years.. Would have to be an M though

It looks fantastic from all angles except those that show the unfortunate rear end. All I see is this:

I think they are great cars.

I'm currently driving a brand new Q3 Sline and the interior is soo nice. My tiguan is going to be a bit of a drop in quality when I get it back.

Audi just knows how to make an interior feel and smell special don't they

Love the style of the A7. I test drove one and it left me cold. Wind noise, dull steering, vibration from the Diesel engine. I was really upset as I loved the look. Not sure what to say but I hope the facelift is better for you.

looks very nice John. brutus is still hiding out in my garage if you're ever tempted. I could be persuaded to sell to the right home!

...and you know where to come when you need that positive feedback on new car choices
Hope all is well with the family.

Really? Well I guess compared to zed it's dull steering but for a motorway cruiser it's great. I'm not buying it to throw about it's far too big for that. Just want a comfortable classy outside lane cruiser with plenty of space for the family :)

I found it very quiet to be honest but I think the facelift has acoustic glass as standard.. It's much quieter than my a3 anyway bit I would expect it to be as it's almost twice the price.

Thanks James. I could be tempted next year. Make sure you get in touch if you think about selling him.. Would be strange having him back. I do regret selling it. Was a real labour if love that car!!
