I just checked on the ebay business that's selling this car, and its a service garage that also does diagnostics so that's not a good sign. I would think water and car electrics don't mix well, although the Advert states no issues with electrics. :?

Its such a shame for a 26K mileage, and £15K price tag "with negotiation maybe £14K" But :!:

But it is registered as a CAT car Brian, so shifting it on again later won't be easy

I've always wondered about the balance of having a cat registered car as a long term keeper - and I suppose the relatively low residual for recorded classics would be a bonus factor in keeping it in the long run too! The potential value is a bit of an appeal too though

Yeh decided to give it a miss, Its been up for sale soooo long I agree it will be a problem to sell it on later but my big worry is the water issue and possible elec faults with all the sensors ect within the floor pan. Pitty.

Loving my #160
Engine ballistic.
Seats not so bad actually. Might get new foam inserts (are they the same as the z4 sport seats?)
Paint could do with either a polish or a respray if I really push the boat out/want a divorce.
I was going run it for a year to make sure the mechanicals are totally sound then splurge on a sound system upgrade but totally keep OEM look (so amp with high level input, subs into the cubbies and new speakers all-round). Can have it looking anything other than stock!!

Edit: CAN'T HAVE it looking anything other than stock!!

I'm in the same boat! The foam inserts are different to m-sport iirc, people complain a lot about the regular m-sport ones.
Paint wise I need to get a few little chips filled in.
Does yours have the lux pack? Which level of sound system do you have - base, hifi or top? I need to do those upgrades too and want a complete OEM look.

Yes, Lux. I think the stereo is base but not sure. It's pretty average. I had the HK in my old z4 and that was fine but I do like nice sounds. Anyway like I said, firstly a trip to Munich legends to make sure mechanically it remains good. Wait for wife to forgive me. Then gently upgrade/ bring to pristine. Any guides/tips gratefully received.

Looks nice and love the colour, however I feel the price premium is a little high compared to sales recently.

Thoughts?
Looks a little on the high side but the seller may feel the condition and history warrants a premium price... that said, we all know that asking price and sale price are rarely the same - there's always room for negotiation....

It does seem that low 20's is the dealer going rate for a car with 45,000 miles. Wow that jump on #17 from P to T. I wonder what Sytners let it go for in the end.

I'd say price is in the same range as when I was looking for mine last year, if I was still in the market I'd be making enquiries.

I think (from a totally unbiased perspective of course!) that that's the way prices are going now for good examples. That doesn't strike me as particularly outlandish or OTT.

When I had mine on display at the launch for the new Z4 with Rybrook it stole the show...including over a Z8 that was there!

There are cheaper ones still out there but I don't think for long.

If they carry on increasing in value you won't catch me complaining... t3904.gif
