Wasn't it a case of Miss Daisy being driven, not actually driving ?

47 years - no points - no bans - got stopped once by the local Constabulary on Christmas Day driving home from work- cheeky sod thought I may have been drinking - asked me to breath in his face - as I had been eating some very spicy sausage rolls etc that morning I gave him a good blow ( so to speak ) - he nearly keeled over

You don't necessarily get points in Germany though unless you are exceeding the speed limit substantially. Usually just a fine.

28 years car 31 years bike. Banned 3 times by the time I was 25, riding whilst disqualified, undue care and attention, evading the police, numerous points. Had a clean licence for 10 years now and intend to keep it like that.

How do you get done for evading the police, Surely you evaded them

29 years, No ban, No accidents and 3 points for parking on a pedestrian crossing even though I was given the ticket for speeding on the motorway .... :?

Had a grand total of 9 points (3 SP30/60s for speeding only) in the space of 20 years, and I've not changed the way I drive as on two of those occasions I'd do exactly the same now.

1st one (about 12 years ago) was on a 50mph DC when a dozy git in a people carrier decided to pull out in front of me without indicating and sit at 30mph alongside the equally dozy git in a van doing the same speed. This guy must have sat there for about 2 miles before I'd had enough and flashed/beeped to get his attention. He dabbed his brakes, so did I, and he pulled back in behind the van :headbang: so I dropped the M5 into 2nd and blasted past just in time to see a copper standing in the slip road pointing a camera at me - so I waved to him and got a ticket a few days later.

2nd one (about 6 years ago) was when I was returning home from London one Friday afternoon. Driving along my usual NSL DC, dropped to about 60mph before the road tightens at my slip road. Next thing I know a copper jumps out from around the bend and gestures me to pull in. I pull in and when he asks if I know why he stopped me I tell him I genuinely thought they were just doing random stops. He tells me I was speeding by dome margin, and I effectively tell him to stop pissing me about as I know I was doing almost exactly 60mph. He agrees and I'm confused until he tells me the limit has been reduced to 40mph as they're preparing to put a set of traffic lights & junction in. It had been 70mph on Monday, the rest of the road was now a 60, and this bit was now a 40. He didn't seem receptive to my suggestion that I should get away with just a warning due to the lack of adequate signage warning of these changes. Didn't bother appealing on that technicality :P

3rd one (about 6 months ago) was on a Welsh hoon. Just joined the A5 after doing the Evo, came up behind a 6-series doing 50mph. Road widened enough for me to see ahead clearly so I dropped to 3rd, pulled out and started to pass. Bastard in the 6-series accelerated, so I did the same, but harder & faster. Got past, pulled back in when well clear, lifted off, and got the main beam treatment. About a minute later I see blues & twos in my mirrors and a marked up 5 series indicates for me to pull over. Copper gets out, says he saw the overtake - which in his words was "Fine, but just a little bit too quick". Told me that I was way over the 60mph limit, told me I'd exceeded 90mph at one point in the overtake, but would escape a court appearance and record the speed at the ticketing threshold of 86mph as I'd overtaken and dropped straight back down to a more reasonable speed. He even told me (although I doubt it would hold up in court) that they wouldn't have even looked at me at below 75mph.

Must be the type of car, Perry ;)

15 years, 3 points 6 years ago, 1 speed awareness course 1 year ago, 0 write offs although did mow down a drunken pedestrian 14 years ago but it was deemed his fault.

For those who've had bans but no points - what kind of speeds do you need to be doing to get banned immediately? Hypothetically speaking, if someone were to regularly use the M5 at 100mph would that be ban territory?
