Aero Skirts

Damn you aquazi - and I was supposed to stop reading this thread :headbang: :headbang:

I was meant to be joking with that pic.. which i just snapped from my phone... but its quite good at showing where it sticks out on the car compared to stock... which would be curved inwards.

imo though for the price on a black car they are minimalistic.. i would much rather pay for an M bumper instead.... or in my case get mine painted and fitted

Was thinking of an M bumper as mine is in a disgraceful state... But as I don't have Xenons the fog lights actually do help occassionally. I'm holiday next week so I am going to write a long list, price it all up, and work out what I am going to do once bonus time comes. If nothing else I'll stop see-sawing from one idea to another :D

I have to say while I do like the Aero skirts, they look quite a subtle mod in pictures (will of course be more prominent in person). I may still look into this depending on price

I too like you Bing like having the fogs, I think they look good actually and so that would stop me with going for the M bumper..

Which leaves the M bonnet which I think looks awesome. But I have no idea how much the mod would cost..

Confirmed today with getBMWparts.com, they still have OEM E85/E86 aero skirts in stock and on special (see pricing in earlier post above).

Had anyone preferred these from this company? Any idea how much they charge for shipping as they are in the States?

Now, now M@r]{, you've only had the car a few hours and already you want to change it :poke:

Wish I'd not seen dgm's pictures here. I've been so tempted to make aero skirts the first serious mod on mine.

Why didn't I stay out this thread banghead.gif

I've asked a couple of places to quote for painting the aero skirts and c.£300 seems to be the magic number.

Starting to get a little too expensive at c.£650 all in...

Half that price is more reasonable for spraying. If you tell them they are factory new and in primer that halves the job.

I thought so too.

Both places (in fairness I only spoke with two) were well aware they were brand new from BMW and primed. I was really surprised they wanted £300...

I had my eBay scuffed and heavily marked rear M bumper sprayed at the below place - cost was £160 and this surely needed the same amount of paint (but less work) than a new set of primed aero skirts

Ask for Aaron, 07976 787615, tell him Allan who-had-a-Focus-ST-now-has-a-Z4 sent you. Did some great work on my company car before I returned it, repairing scratches and scrapes to keep my insurance history unblemished :D Recommended to me by someone, and one of my mates has used him for repair of vandalism to his Mini Cooper. I think I will be using him for a front bumper resprayed in the summer

He also does wheel re-furbs, but not used him for that.

What about these from mStyle, supplied painted for £470?? Or £530 inc fitting and painting.

How different are these to the BMW ones?

They are the BMW ones - strange description as the AC Schnitzer ones are different, With a 'vent' at the rear of them IIRC

Not a bad price.

{"]Do you think they are genuine BMW or copies? £300 for the skirts?!

They look genuine, and reading back through the thread £300 for 2, primed, appeared to be the magic number. They are £188 each on CooperBMW.

Those pictured are BMW aero skirts, certainly not AC Schnitzer - and £470 is not a bad price supplied painted.

Liking the idea of a paintshop thread, but can you guys recommend something a little further north. North Cheshire / South Manchester would work quite nicely. :D

Did you notice the edit to my thread, their page implies they'll fit them for an extra £60 on top 8)
