AISI it's not about who won or how they drove, it's about being able to rely on the written rules - the teams sign up to the rules at the start of each season and they become, in effect, a contract between the team and the FIA.john-e89 said:Honestly all this whingeing over a guy that races like they used to in't tholden days....what do you guys want, a traffic light system saying wether they're allowed to make a move or not...? Although Crofty mentioned that there is pitlane gossip circulating that Perez's car was underfueled to make him faster so he could help MV and RB 'retired' his car because he would have run out of fuel - might explain why he was so puzzled about the retirement over the radio when he thought the car was running perfectly.sp3ctre said:Drive of the day goes to Perez IMO, that wingman performance was epic!
Agree whole heartedly. Lewis got the benefit of the earlier decision but Toto is not complaining about that decision. Rules are rules but the race director made a decision and rightly in my opinion wanted the race to be decided in a race, no fizzle out behind a safety car. Lewis nearly held Max off and if he had it would have been great driving and he would have deserved his win. The race was lost by Mercedes not taking advantage of the safety car and changing tyres. Yes he would have come out behind Max but they should have had faith in Lewis to do the business and overtake Max, which I think he would have done. Max won it and the Mercedes as a team lost itjohn-e89 said:I don't hear anyone bleating about Ham not giving the place back on the first lap....oke:
How many want to watch the last race in a title decider finish under the safety car...? If Max hadn't come in for softs would Moaning Merc be still be moaning that all the cars hadn't passed...? Hmmmmmmm......think not..... Red Bull outsmarted Merc at the death, Ham could have pitted for softs too but they played it safe and got tripped up. Max worthy worthy champ.![]()

Looking forward (hopefully) for a years racing where we don’t know on race 1 who will win the season.
Perez the driver of the weekend. He got Max on pole also. Respect to Lewis though who after the race took the loss gracefully congratulating Max and the Red Bull Team.PerryGunn said:Although Crofty mentioned that there is pitlane gossip circulating that Perez's car was underfueled to make him faster so he could help MV and RB 'retired' his car because he would have run out of fuel - might explain why he was so puzzled about the retirement over the radio when he thought the car was running perfectly.sp3ctre said:Drive of the day goes to Perez IMO, that wingman performance was epic!
