A blessed relief

I'm with you Iain. I gave up push bikes when I got a motorbike at 16 and have no desire to watch other people in silly Lycra ride them.

Exactly, why push pedals when you could just have an engine!

Quite like the TDF simply for the French scenery :) Different matter on a Sunday morning drive though when I'm screaming at every 3 abreast pushbikes :D

Tim.

Best sport on at the moment is the Tour de France. Watching the Manx missile make history aged 39 today. Had me on my feet cheering.

I can't get excited about the TDF - no engines!

Manx missiles were great in May when the Crowe brothers won at the IOM TT races.

Love the TT. 8) TDF just shades it in my book. This year at least, yesterday's finish was hard won and will remain in the record books for a long time. Both several places above F1. Which has at last made a return to my top 10. :driving:

I will watch the velodrome cycling at the Olympics, cos that is exciting. It's like sprinting on wheels!

You should watch the finish of yesterday's TDF stage. I feel you would genuinely enjoy it. For a few moments at least. It was sprinting on wheels. :P

A big cheer to the Pharmaceutical Scientists who make all of those dull sports slightly more interesting.

Ye but they don't drink much alcohol. :D

Just looks like end of shift at St Levans gate, Devonport Dockyard but gay.

Did you watch it yet.
[/quoteI saw some of it, reminded me of the nightly bike scramble at St Levans gate, Devonport Dockyard in the 80's but with gay shirts.

If God intended us to ride bikes he wouldn't have created engines

I suspect you're not looking forward to tomorrow's result and would prefer to hear nothing about it but IMO its the most important day in our country's history since that disasterous day in 2016. At long, long last the tide seems about to turn.

Really looking forward to it. We desperately need a change. No response required.

[/quote]we were looking to move house in the next few months but with the potential for council tax revaluations and a tax on equity from house sales we have put it on hold to see what happens over the next six months. We may not be able to afford what we were looking at.

Just make sure you get all your life savings into overseas bank accounts by tomorrow before the socialists get their grubby hands on it

It makes no difference who is in power, Labour or Conservative, they always make a bloody mess of it.

I'm sorry you feel like that Those in power (left and right) have often made things better. It does make a difference.

Labour did some good stuff last time and I'm hoping they can do so again. For whatever reason the Tories have failed to improve peoples lives these last 14 years and voters, having given them several chances, have rightly abandoned them

Yes, indeed.
The biggest story seems to be the massive amount of votes for the Reform party. Millions of 'protest' votes which are ultimately wasted, as no-one in the two main parties will care. You get nothing for being second without winning any seats.

Very low turn out, obscure parties getting loads of votes, is a sign the UK is not happy. Starmer won't care, as he now has 'power' which is all that matters to them!

It's a sad day for the UK (again) IMO.
Should I wait for them to take all my money from me, or should I pre-empt it and just burn it? Difficult one.

Is the Tory Party still a party? isn't it more accurate to call it a gathering now :)

Seriously though, personal greed is not how a healthy society thrives. Lazy labelling which thankfully doesn't resonate with the majority of people anymore. Talking of health, it's 76 years to the day since Labour founded the health service - something, I think we can agree, we can all be grateful for.
