9k miler...worth the ask...?

The M roady was approx £44k on launch, I wonder how many people would buy a brand spanker these days if BMW rolled out a run of them again exactly as they were. I’d wager many would, so this car seems pretty much spot on no..?
Z3 or Z4 MRoady?

I wouldn't touch the Z3 myself, a bit flimsy next to the Z4. IMHO

Z4 Buzy.

Must admit that when I bought the M Roadster my expectations were high following all of the reviews , but how wrong was I ! Hence I sold the M after 6 months and bought another Griffith 500, oh for luxury.

A common problem with all TVRs and definitely with the the Griff 500, was that any one who heard it was so intoxicated by the noise, that it took them a while to realise the rest of the car was made in a canoe factory. ( I absolutely love them btw)

Had a Sagaris for a little while a few years back before the MC. Initially, I didn't warm to it, then realised the only way to drive it was to rag the life from it. Was a much more compliant car when driven hard.

The constant smell of petrol, the bonnet randomly opening at 70 mph when it felt like it and the 7-minute warm-up procedure was simply too much in the end.

Yes, totally agree about the warm up procedure having suffered that with a Tamora - it was even worse in the winter!
Drive 10 miles before the car has warmed up, very pain full when your in a rush.

Ref Canoe smell, totally correct. The rest of it, build quality might not be to some cars standards, but my other halfs Brand new V/X Adam spent more time at the dealers than I dare tell. Where as the TVR never broke down once.

My previous car (BMW 335d M Sport) took 13 miles to warm up, so a modern car is no better!

I do not understand the obsession with such low miles apart from the bragging rights, cars that are seldom used/serviced often have faults develop. I think with such a mechanical car it should be used for a couple of 1000 miles a year at least.

Also the worst part about paying a premium for a car due to low mileage; feeling guilty when using it! You buy a great drivers car and feel bad about driving it, makes no sense.

Exactly why I bought a high miler which need a bit of tlc on the front end. I don't worry about driving it!

I remember a friend selling his old 993 911 for a modern 997 GTS. Said he felt like he was curating a museum piece and just wanted to enjoy driving.

Well I purchased my Z4MC with only 38k and I would of purchased one with lower mileage if it was within my budget, obviously if the condition and servicing history was reflected in that over a higher mileage one all day long. However I do plan to move my car on within 4 years to purchase my all time want - a Porsche 911 to retire with, so my mileage will be kept to under 2k pa over that time as it will form a good part of my deposit. I don’t expect to make money, however I also don’t expect it to lose too much either.

Both fair points and arguably the right approach but just personally this low miler appeals as I’m a bit of a concours fan and I’d assume this car is almost showroom top and underneath, something which is like a moth to a flame to some people. No bragging rights just the opportunity to have an almost off the production line car that hasn’t been made for 12 years now. I’d PPF it and use it at weekends only but I get totally that’s a crazy idea to some. We’re all different.

BTW I’m not buying it......Cant afford it....

I'm scared of respraying the front of mine which looks a bit of a mess because then I'll know the first swirl or stone chip will piss me off

PPF sorts all that though, just so expensive!

Maybe, but it's only a matter of finding someone who is prepared to pay that sort of money for a barely used MR - although that may take some time.

There was a low mileage 3.0i E85 advertised quite recently that we all thought looked expensive, but someone still bought it and joined the forum!

Still for sale at the same £32k tag.....guess the owner is going to have to lower his sights a little.
It's because it's blue and not imola :fuelfire:

I would say - sell a kidney, but in your case all your organs are not in a showroom condition :D :poke:

Done a respray on my car and just had the full PPF done last week, so I am good to go now 8)

Drop £10k off it and it will sell.

I would agree with that, though a few more regular miles would be better. I paid that sort of money for mine with 12k on the clock. That was 9 1/2 years ago mind you. :)
