Strut brace would be nice! Can anyone who has one provide measurements?

Well i might have done myself out of work hear!! I am hopping to start making braces again in the next few months.

Not wanting to step on anyone's toes so happy to steer clear of strut braces.

Na its a free market matey you carry on. Its all done in the interest of helping people out. Yours will be different to mine anyway. They will have to be we make them differently.

And variety is the spice of life

Ooo what about replacement front and rear badges with bmw cut out? That could work

The ones being made next week will all be 82mm so will put one on the boot with pictures to show what they look like. I have a feeling these roundels will be like marmite!!

I got access to a 3 axis cnc miller, 1000 x 600 bed,
If any 1 interested in making some strut bars, just pm me your requirements, and I can see what I can do, the machine can knock out strut bars in minutes, and it can do any sort of engraving you need

I have made a template of the front bumper which would enable me to create a single skid plate/protector that would follow the line of the bumper round to the front wheels. Basically would be a big sheet with one side cut to the shape of the bumper if that makes sense.

I'm wondering if people prefer this idea or one which just covers the bumper lip? A strip of steel that follows the bumper contour??

I've also looked at the rpi fang protectors, which could be made easily but was wondering if anyone who has one could remove theirs and draw me a template. Failing that I may buy a set.

In regards to the splitter, the bumper plate could be cut with the contour of the bumper 1 or 2 inches further out. creating a lip that would protrude 1 or 2 inches past the bumper whilst matching the shape of the bumper??? You could paint or carbon wrap the lip??

Just a few ideas, any input good or bad appreciated.

And would again offer these to forum members as cheap as possible.

So, the CAD drawings for the badges are done and will be cut this week. I've shaded the parts that will be cut out. I've attached the drawings for any comments. :tumbleweed:

So, the badges are done, now they aren't going to be to every-ones taste but I think they have come out really well. On mine, I think I will tint the face of the clear light with some laminex smoke tint. The downside is that the orange bulb is visible but tinting or clear bulb that flashes orange??? would solve this. They will probably work best on non-silver cars IMO. Ive got 10 sets of each although 3 have sold already, so 7 sets of each left. Im asking £20 for a pair including delivery. This covers all the costs involved.

Whilst I appreciate the design and I like the templates when they're cut out - actually on the car is a different matter. I'm sorry, I'm not a fan of these at all.

Thanks, appreciate the feedback, I'm not 100% on the side ones myself, maybe a darker car would be better.

However, on the rear I really do like them. Again not everyone will like them and they're certainly unique.

im 50/50 on these so far, would defo be better to see a couple on diff colour cars and maybe painted to match. great effort tho and a big thumbs up for trying something new and different  dont be put off and keep trying a couple of other things (think fang protectors and a few other things were mentioned..)

Only just caught up with this thread , , defo interested in lower front splitter thing + under fang protectors
Also just thinking out loud , what about those expensive hard to get hold of roof down side cover things :?

Re the front fang/splitter , i could easily do some mock up templates in 4mm/6mm MDF ?

Thanks, I would say I'm also 50/50. I think maybe the car being too similar in colour to the badges is why they don't look quite right.
