A bigger engine means a faster 0-60 better balanced car but nothing more when it comes to either a 2L,2.2, 2.5,3 or 3.2 on a Z4, mine even looks better then a stock M just not as fast.lol
Apart from the red roof and different wheels how does your look better then a stock M?
The M front is more aggressive, and has an M bonnet!
With the roof down you still have the dated grey panels and no M seats...
So i would have to disagree with that point... But i still think you should drop a better engine in.

Have to agree, your Z4 isn't that special, no matter what you might think.
I realised many years ago (I'm 34 now) that throwing money away modifying cars is a fools game. I did nearly 20k on a golf VR6, saw less than half of it back at the end.
If you want a fast reliable car buy one thats fast from the factory.
Also, if 9k really is "not a lot of money" then do something useful with it like put it towards a house, or save it for when your not quite so well off.
