68k 2006 (56) ///M roadster £13k SOLD

Andy, really can’t understand your desire to sell such a cracking car at this present time.

Have been amazed at so many quality cars coming up for sale at such a diabolical time of year, absolutely crazy... so if there’s anyway you can defer to March next year or keep... as feel you will only deeply regret this sale.

Chin up & wish you every success

The market hasn’t been great for seller’s this year.

The uncertainty of Brexit hasn’t exactly helped either.

Hopefully you can secure a deal soon, but if you don’t you will easily be able to sell come Feb/March 2019.

Considering I have a similar car it doesn't look good at the moment if you want to sell. Good luck with the sale Andy.

As others have said, wrong time of year and Brexit looming means a lot of uncertainty.

H.

Update for those who like to follow the ///Market , last week had a private buyer very keen on the car but little chance of us meeting on price with his max budget of £11500 & similar situation with a trade buyer who contacted me today with his "very serious offer " of £11200

Its currently on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292813258987?ViewItem=&item=292813258987
& also on Pistonheads https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/bmw/z4m-roadster/bmw-z4-m-roadster--------------2006/9243901
once the ads expire i won't try again until the new year , its pretty much as i expected Re interest & potential buyers , certainly the lowest , slowest market ive known across the whole Z range in the 6+ years ive been involved .

At least it gives me the last weekend in November :) time to brim it up & enjoy some ///Miles out :driving: before garaging it for the winter .

I think this is true across the whole top end car market Andy. Nothing seems to be moving very quickly, I remember looking at a blue roadster in Burton and the dealer was adamant that I needed to "buy it now!!" as it would be gone soon..........

What I do believe is that actual "good" cars that are straight, well maintained and original will eventually filter through and always sell - what they will stabilise at is another matter.

As others have said though, I'm sure come the good weather it will be gone.

Fortunately i'm not over a barrel needing or desperately wanting to sell.
If it goes the cash goes in the drawer & if not the car comes out again come spring & drive it some more.
I accept it is a tough market right now & think its priced fair / realistic for buyer & seller to feel happy.
Always open to negotiation but the 2 interested parties so far I feel were too low to make me want to part company
Slow & steady wins the race eh

Buying a car from someone who clearly cherishes his cars is a far better option than paying top dollar from a local trader.
anyone considering an m, should be looking at something like this.
if I was in the market for one, I would be all over this.
glws andy. someone is going to get a cracking car. :)

So last 10days had two further offers both turned down. A privateer at £10k  & a performance car specialist in Harrogate wanting the car for showroom stock on a sale or return basis :? I don't think so
Anyhow it's now on Sorn in garage freshly detailed with clingfilm wrap  yes really :D
Si coupe hit the road 1st Dec so that will see me into spring

Hi Andy, just curious as to why the clingfilm wrap instead of a cover? :?
Rob

Nice to see the car :D with garage door up & always wary of marks from cover if garage left open in windy weather.

A bump & a market update for those interested in buying or selling a ZMR
Now through the worst of the winter months , car is still tucked up in garage but things appear to be happening :?
Its sat on Pistonheads for a good few weeks with zero interest at £13250 but on Saturday i dropped it to £12995 for the final week , day after a caller ( doubt he will buy as unsure if he wanted MR or MC ) another email yesterday asking all the right questions you would expect but no further contact then a hour ago another chap from down south on the phone seemingly very interested .
So the market isn't dead but has been asleep for sure , as spring gets closer & i have no doubts the car will sell & someone will have themselves a great ownership experience

I echo this from my recent experiance.

I have always found that it's about correct pricing that makes a sale. If it's not nearly spot on, you generally get little or no interest irrespective of time of year.

Cars like the M are always that bit harder to sell, due to their high running costs and few people seeking to buy such cars of that ilk.

Agreed in general but the past 6 months there has been a distinct lack of buyers whatever the price :? which i believe i have not been ott with as to my knowledge there isn't one sub 70k ZMR available in the UK with good history ( & requires zero spend ) anywhere near £13k .
To put in context both my previous ZMRs were sold for more money ( 2 & 4 years ago) & both had 82k/83k on at time of sale , one was sold in January the other in August

Well the caller from yesterday called back earlier :o deal agreed , deposit taken to collect the car in 2 weeks time on his return from holiday :(
If all works out the ZM is heading south London area , not yet a forum member
