I love adaptive too - I love the way it stiffens the steering, makes the throttle more responsive, ride firmer and, most importantly, adjusts the fuelling so the 35iS pops and bangs like a good 'un

Other than the adaptive suspension part they all have this feature allowing the car to go from Comfort to Sport to Sport Plus that does all of the above

Ah, cool, didn't realise that as I've only had 35iS's ... :)

Sat at the dealers now just waiting to update the order adding adaptive suspension and the HomeLink options

I have to say, having driven a 35i with non adaptive on 296 wheels I discounted it as too firm for me. When I first tried a 35iS with 326 wheels and adaptive I loved the suspension and ride - soft enough but still firm as opposed to too solid for me everyday. In sport mode with the adaptive on the 35iS it was like the standard non adaptive - if that makes sense. Sport on the adaptive was 'engaging' when I wanted it but obviously I had the usual option of 'comfort' which has suited me better most of the time.

You'll be so glad you added the AS. Makes the car so much more versatile. A very comfortable long distance GT in comfort mode and a fun sports car in sports mode. My Bridgestone RFs are way too precious for me to venture into sports+!!!!

What's the "HomeLink" options ?
That's a new one to me!

Sorry, I call it Homelink when BMW call it Universal Remote Control - basically opens and closes remote controlled electric garage doors/gates etc

The feature I particularly like is the concierge service!
I also pleased that they provide a six month service for those of us who use the cars summer only.

The only problem I have with the adaptive suspension is that I love to drive the car with fast shifts and TC off so that means gear lever to the left and car in Sport+ mode. Which is perfect apart from the awful bone shaking ride that comes with the adaptive suspension in full hard mode!

Just wish they had de-coupled the suspension settings from gearbox settings..

*fixed typo 8)

Presume this is a 35is DCT as opposed to the 35i manual your talking about?

Well the order has been sucessfully changed to add adaptive suspension and universal remote and the delivery date has not changed

Can't wait as my old one goes on Tue this week so going to be without one for a few weeks

Yes, sorry I forgot we were talking manual!

You will have no such problems. You have slow shifts regardless of mode :poke:

But seriously I'd love a manual car again! I hope they don't start phasing manuals out of the big engine choices in the Z5.

Great move! I've got the AS on my 35i manual and it makes all the difference when you're going over mixed Tarmac. Bumps, etc. feel less skittish and unsettling than the standard M suspension and in softly softly mode it becomes a gentle cruiser.

Hope you enjoy the new ride!

Just been paid for the old one and they are collecting today or tomorrow so sad day but only a few weeks to go - week 20 the dealer says for the new one, can't wait :driving:

So to a few additions - looking for opinions here please chaps.

Black kidney grills or standard?

You've gone red haven't you? Black will look good imo. My other half didn't like the silver grill on the 35is and the same night I collected bought me black grills.........they are still in the box and I've had my car two years now
