Anyone done this? How hard to bleed the system?
You could always use INPA software to carry out the brake bleed which activates the ABS pump for a few seconds - this would prove if your pump works.
Post replacing the pump brushesI and running the motor on the bench and full reassembly I found that I could not bleed the brakes properly once the ABS /DSC was reinstalled so had to use INPA bleed program to activate the pump bleeding cycle
Its not hard but you just need someone to sit in the car activating the pump and pressing the pedal while someone else bleeds at the wheels.
I tried Vacuum bleeding and pressure bleeding but only got about 75% brake efficiency = soft pedal , whereas operating the pump whilst bleeding made the brakes pedal much more solid.
I feel the task was daunting rather than difficult but I was an engineer by trade - the problem I now have is having to plug the car into a laptop anytime these bloody lights come on. I would rather not have ABS / DSC wheel sensors, g measurement , electric steering in the first place!
but guess we all have to move with the times.
