Hi guys

I just wondered what was your best average mpg on the 3.0si Sport?

I haven't had mine long and when I picked it up he was averaging 21.5!! On the way home over a 160 motorway trip I got it up to 37.9. I am going away on a 240 trip on Wednesday and wondered whether I could hit the 40mpg mark! On normal driving which are Yorkshire wolds country roads and no motorways I am getting around 30 to 32.

I really hope I can break that 40 barrier :)

Andy

Funnily enough I was wondering this last week as I set myself the task of getting my mpg as high as I could get it (that'd how rock n roll my life is!).
So on the Stokesley to Helmsley road I got a whopping 39.6 mpg!
I was driving like a proper fanny tho!

Hi Rachel

Glad to hear you still have the zed :) I know that road well and I can't believe you got 39mpg on that as it just begs to be driven as quickly as possible traffic permitting.

I've not done motorway driving but mine is an automatic and averages 32.1 MPG although coming back from the Z4-Forum meet up on Sunday I was getting 28.8 MPG.

Hi Andy
For our 2007 Coupe over 5371 miles so far and 19 tanks of fuel:

Max tank 35.156 (motorway trip upto Darlington)
Min tank 26.898
Average 31.749

That's over a reasonable mix of roads and driving, generally avoiding too much heavy town stuff.
I did get it over 40 once from Alton to Woking up the A31/A3 but it took some effort :)

Thanks for that I think it looks like mine will be hovering around the 30mpg mark with the type of driving I do but it is a weekend car so I am fine with that, I just thought I might get some tales of 40 plus :)

As someone that commutes through central London each day, I average a massive 14 MPG.

 wow that is a shocker!

That's London for you! Unfortunately I have to commute to South East London every day, it's not as bad as central London, but it's still painful...

I have managed a 463 miles to a tank before.. ODBC said 0 miles left (well it actually had 0 miles left for a couple of miles!) .... when i filled it up it took 51 Lites - so i recon thats 42 mpg!

Wow 463 miles on a tank this is superb well done :)

So it looks like my 30/32 average is quite ok then.

For comparison, here's the same information for my daily driver Z4MC - over 17,600 miles, 8 months and 75 fill ups.

Max tank 32.5
Min tank 19.2 (including a day of drifting)
Average 27.7

Lots of 80-85mph (GPS speed) motorway/dual-carriageway, but also London & Liverpool town driving, M25 traffic jams, 2 trips to the 'Ring each year, a track day, a drift day (2nd gear all day) and my regular Welsh Hoons.

That was a single motorway journey... cruising at about 65-70 all the way!

My average for mixed is 30 mpg... so 30/32 is indeed very good

This morning 167miles door to door, 41.5mpg.

Some cruise control and a couple of miles at 50mph in roadworks which helped.

Thanks guys at least I know now that 30/32 is not bad at all but on my journey on Wednesday I am hoping at some stage to see 40 even if only briefly :)

Just completed a 3000 mile European road trip in our 2003 3.0 auto, we got just over 36 at sensible motorway speeds (130kph) and 32.2 overall but this did include a few "Clarkson moments" in Chianti & the through the Alps. :driving:

I've had as high as 37.6 after a trip from Bath to Durham very impressed,it was probably down to the gf sleeping in the car so took it steady :D
