It seems like they keep on making the Z cheaper and cheaper. It kind of bothers me. Like I payed 74 thousand on my 35is and people are going to think I'm driving a 38 thousand dollar car ( not that I care much ) I mean I know the 28i is cheaper but continuing to lower the price just makes more expensive trims seem cheaper. I probably should have gotten a 28i. Also I hope I'm not offending anyone. Either way I love the Z4!

Oh dear.. 18i?! Roll on all the hairdresser comments. Sigh.

Not liking the new indicators.. Interior is gimmicky.. Sigh.

What was an exclusive 6 pot is being diluted badly.

Call me crazy, but I still prefer the E85 styling (especially the funky turn indicators).

What is the point of the detuned 2 litre engine, only 150 bhp and not any more efficient! Just asking to be remapped.

Debadged, in that colour with the available gubbins option, I'd take one to slink around in. Much more refined if you view as a GT cruiser as opposed to a traffic light drag racer. And what's not to like about the mpg right?

Classic BMW tactics. The 'update' will cost more money. BMW don't just add things for the same money, they increase the model price at the same time, but, they then introduce a lower engined model which can absorb the new price changes to make the car look cheaper or the same price.

From this point on all new BMW's come with DAB, while speaking with the dealer the other month I said well that's a welcome freebie, he said 'er no, all model prices have increased in base price by the cost of DAB'. Classic BMW.

I agree with inkey.

The e89 is growing on me, somehow massively dependant on wheel choice. With the wrong wheels I seem to really completely over the top hate the whole car design :? :D

This looks great though in a COLOUR (thank god BMW) and having the roof in black is a bit edgy. The engine, well as inkey said, something ok to slink about in :)

I was hoping to see a true M version with a lightweight carbon fibre non folding but detachable roof, lighter seats etc...
Something to take on a Cayman R

Oh. Well

BMW have already stated that they have no plans to do an 'M' e89. Whatever replaces the e89 in the next couple of years however hasn't been ruled out to have the 'M' treatment.

You're not crazy :-)
I too find the E85 a lot more sportier looking :-)
And it's still a true roadster, the E89 not anymore (tin roof)

I half expected some interior tweaks... perhaps black panel display like all the new cars.. but I guess that's reserved for the F range and not the E. ...and the old iDrive system too by the looks of the photos.. that graphics display is the same as mine (2009) yet the new iDrive is now available in the 5 series etc...

In some ways it's a good thing because it means that the value of similarly aged pre- and post-facelift cars shouldn't be much different, whereas with the E85 the facelift was a bigger issue - new 3.0 engine, new auto gearbox, bumpers, etc.

Stick a set of the new headlights on and that's it :D
