2013 BMW Z4 revealed

I'm guessing the pics are of an M Sport, they've made a bit of cock with the rear bumper to my eyes, its gone far too fussy, looks like a diffuser within a diffuser and just looks messy now. I quite like side indicator detal. Interior doesn't look any different. But they have spoilt for me

The rear bumper is unchanged from what I can tell, its a 35is. They have a coloured lower section (where normal M Sport is dark grey) along with a black insert like a small diffuser. Doesn't look like they've changed anything at the back, on the 35is that they're showing anyhow. Looks like side gills and front lights is all.

I won't be swapping for a 35is then :) I've never noticed the bumper like that before, I think the standard M Sport is nicer.

From a car website, MSN

In the absence of an M version of BMW's tin-top roadster, the 35is is the fastest Z4 available, with prices starting at £29,485. Boasting 33bhp more than the regular 35i (a whopping 335bhp in total) it is only marginally less fuel efficient than the next model down, but more than a second quicker to the 60mph mark.

Is the iS really more than a second faster to 60 than the 35i?

No.. the've got all their facts completely messed up.

Price starts at 29K for the 20i.. and the 35i DCT is quoted at 5.1 while the IS at 4.8 from what I recall... in other words its not that much quicker, IS is more kudos than anything, which is perhaps why its just a tad more expensive.

Surely BMW can't sell many 35i M-Sports with DCT. I mean why would you when for an extra grand you get a 35iS with 34 more HP?

I imagine the dont, especially as when you add the (standard on 35is) adaptive suspension the cost difference is £395!

A quick check on BMW approved shows 3 of 6 35i with DCT so half are specifying DCT. Is DCT worth it?

Yes but are they M-sport DCT's? The non M-sport 35i DCT is about £4k cheaper than a 35iS.

No only 1 of 3 M sports has DCT

DCT is def worth the outlay, it's the best box I've had on any car....but then again at the time I only bought it because I didn't like the look of the auto shifter on the 23i and 30i models....but I'm glad I did

Oh Stark I agree with you - its a great gearbox. I just meant that BMW's pricing policy for the M-Sport, DCT equipped 35i was odd - you may as well stump up the extra £1k and get the 35iS.
