I only just noticed this today..... cheap as chips.
I was too slow.

Throw in £400 for bits to sort and it’s still cheap as chips... :o

A touch more than £400 required id say :? roof motor , wheel refurb , paint required on front bumper + don't forget the ins 2 (£700ish & rear tyres (£300ish ? )

Early Xmas present for Mr. W?

Would seem so  a lover of the S54 especially in roadster guise :driving: started the year with one & whilst i hadn't expected to end it with another i'm more than looking forward to the experience once again :)

Thanks for the offer , its appreciated but i think our location being 270miles apart would prove challenging

Yep, Mr Wilks was quick to draw and we've made arrangements that suit us both.

I did have plenty of interest, sorry to those who missed it. It looks like I could have sold it 3-4 times this afternoon.

I wouldn't be surprised if I'm looking for another in around 5 years and paying at least twice as much.

Quite possible as these cars are addictive!! Saying if you sell sensibly and someone gets a good deal then I believe it comes back around 👍

Mr W, that's brilliant....I genuinely doubt anyone else in the world has ever owned as many Z's as you. BMW should give you some form of special certificate :driving:

Trust the 997 is not going anywhere though?

Well the plan for next year was to sell the C4 May/June & try a 981 Cayman before returning ( 2021) to a 997.2 or if they continue falling  possibly even a base model 991 .
This MR will distort that plan somewhat  as much as id love to sorn & stash the 997 its hassle i don't need so most likely after our xmas roadtrip it will be in the classifieds

Ive had a lot of them but id say my Bmw ownership will be restricted going forward
As much as i see great value right now in the M2 / M4 i look at them & sit in them but feel little desire to own either

Interesting moves :D

I trust you would stick with the manuals? Following the Porsche world for a while now it seems that they are getting more difficult to get hold of, especially the newer the model. Still very happy with mine though, won't move from that. Wouldn't mind a 993 as well though

Thankfully the 35is DCT thoroughly put me off any further autos hence my choice to go manual on the 997 & i instantly took to it :driving: terrific clutch / gearbox so by choice it would be manual all the way in either 997 / 981 or 991

A test drive of the DCT put me off as well.

The equivalent in my X5M is fine for the type of car, but not much fun for me in a sports car.

Pretty much my standpoint too , for a weekend treat / roadtrip car i find the manual engages & entertains , if the car was a daily driver then i see the benefits of the dct / dsg / pdk boxes , our main family cars have always been lazy autos & i like them for what they offer

I don't ever drive the 997 & wish i could drop the roof but i do wake up at the weekend & sometimes think it would be a good to get out early , roof down for a good blatt :driving: guess little has changed for me over the last 7 years constantly alternating between roadster & coupe which is why the E89 is so appealing , pity they aren't very inspiring or involving once you hit the lanes
