2007 Z4M roadster 82k miles - Deposit taken!

Can’t believe this thread....

Seller offers car with issues for reduced priced

Couple of people, including me, PM the seller (in my case to ask a couple of questions before committing)

Someone else PM’s the seller and Say’s ‘Here’s the money....let’s go’

Why would/should the seller mess about?

Fair play to Mr Wilks for being decisive and acting faster than anyone else

Appreciate your comments TB as i was aware at the time from the thread that you were PMing , i wasn't attempting to scupper anyone's chances of buying the car , ive been on the forum 7/8 yrs & seen many similar sale threads to this one follow a certain path where there is a crazy amount of interest but a week later after answering lots of PMs the car remains unsold , thread next updated with " car now traded in " i just put my hand forward & offered the guy the £8500 he wanted .

I wish I could be as savvy and detached when it comes to buying vehicles  ;I'm always as much emotionally involved as I am financially  . I have two motorbikes which I've owned since 2006 and I've had my beautiful Coupe since 2016 which I can't imagine parting with :D .

I found some photos from my very first forum hoon in 2012, although to be honest not much hooning was done at Hartside in March. If you look closely enough you can see Hermminators (old)car parked just next to Guiseleys old coupe.

That was quick

Situations change , planned to run it through summer but hadn't envisaged buying another Si coupe ( which i would prefer to keep out of the 2 ) or the CV19 preventing driving either .
Its taxed & insured so happy to drive it (whenever that becomes possible ) until it sells which right now will most probably take a few months .

It was a car i tried to buy 2 yrs ago but it didn't materialise & the seller chose to keep hold.
Imo rare example of a Si being a 08 plate, Ti silver with individual syrah trim & having a rear quad exhaust conversion already done.
Whilst I would have preferred this done from a Si bumper it's a top quality job so no gripes.
Really good spec, really good history so when it came up early this year we agreed a price & deal was done.

beautiful cars! both the Z4M roadster and your new 3.0si coupe. which do you prefer?

You should probably start a specific thread on that as i know a good number of forum members have had E85 & E86 & Si & M .
As for myself , without wanting to stir the pot too much  after having a decent number of both my heart is firmly with the coupe .
As for the Si v M debate  for many reasons my personal choice would be the Si

Do you prefer the coupe purely for the shape or do you also prefer the extra stiffness too?

As crazy as it may seem...I actually prefer the N52 engine to the S54 engine overall as well.

The Si N52 is a masterpiece , no denying that even from the diehard S54 owners , it revs freely , has lighter clutch , easier gears & dare i say :( for 95% of the time i prefer the steering :o add far better MPG & almost half the Ved there are way more ticks for the Si than crosses
As for the hardtop / roadster ? I do like the cocoon feel once inside the cabin & aesthetically the coupe always appeals in a way the roady doesn't
I'm not saying i don't enjoy the roof down early morning drives in a roadster but given a direct choice of the two as a keeper it would be the E86

Even though I've just bought an M I'd definitely agree that the N52 engine is fantastic, just in a different way to the S54.

Luckily my 3 Series daily has an N52, so perhaps I've got the best of both worlds?

thanks mr wilks and LeeZ4MR! I've reopened a separate discussion "z4 coupe vs z4m coupe". Don't want to hijack this thread haha, as I come from a 130i with the n52 and hydraulic steering, I'm very torn.
