Don't think Mr Wilks posted anything about his drive in the Alpina - what did you think of the difference Andy?

Thought it was refined & torquey , felt a bit hard in immediate comparison to mine on 19s but that could be eased with upping the profiles & lowering the pressures i reckon
I liked the dash / seat trim & dials ,
Performance , rarity & VEDwise they're a good alternative to the M providing they stay under M values :wink: otherwise the S54 , M susp & steering + quad pipes make the M the one to buy for me

Remember that Alan's has aftermarket suspension, Bilstein B12, IIRC, rather than the original Alpina suspension so it's going to feel a bit different from standard
 
Even I found it a hard ride for the first day, having pumped the tyres up a little more for the motorway drive down. Having then decided to let a couple of PSI out on the Saturday after Andy drove it, it felt so much smoother. ...Unless the tarmac was just better on Saturday !

I averaged 28.4 mpg for the weekend. Not bad as I only topped 85mph briefly on the one occasion... :wink:
 
Mine came in a 28.6 but I was ringing its neck most of the time. Just to keep up with you big boys and your powerful cars. I think I topped out at 85 briefly too :oops: :oops:

All 5 tanks brimmed Friday at same station , 200 miles later all 5 tanks brimmed at same station
Not sure whether the loser here should actually be the winner for heaviest right foot :D

1) Number5 47eur 20
2) mwilks 47eur 70
3) Mmonkey 49eur
4) srhutch 50eur
5) Taz 55eur :D

although the Friday evening restaurant drive should also factor so overall Number5s Alpina is a country mile the most economical Z of the five as Monkey's & my own car did around 8/10miles less & Taz should also be penalised for getting lost & not listening to directions :poke:

Your thinking of that huge (long) bridge. These needed a run up they were that high.
