18th Aug- Z4 Scots Borders/Northumberland (Kielder) Meet

Great to meet everyone. Had a great time & really learned how to push the Z4 on corners. Feel a lot more confident driving it hard! Probably due to trying keep up with the Z4M's lol.

Could everyone put their username & actual name up on here because I just realised I know your names but not which username to relate them too.

Now with Photos added.
Great day even if the weather wasn't as forecast. Nice to see every one .

Looks like you all had fun

Good to see you all shortly at the start, I'll get my finger out and sort a meet out before the hooning season comes to an end :D

Just in and fed and watered, thanks to all but especially Paul and Steph for their route planning and scouting and Jax for doing the organising .

Really good day out .. My best bits

1. The drive alongside Kieldar Water
2. Heather and honey ice cream at St Abs
3. The road from Duns back to the meet point - total fluke we found it but one of the best roads I've driven in ages - Adam you need to get yourself out on this road fast

Thanks for sharing the lead Jax, Paul and Steph and Toe-side - it was fun to lead the start and finish but then do tail end Charlie and slot in the middle added some variety.

Good to see the regulars and catch up and good to see some new faces - look forward to seeing you on Adam's future meet.

Good to finally meet the Bings- enjoy the rest of your stay and safe journey home guys.

Still smiling about that B road from Duns :driving:

Hi all,

Paul and Steph here

Great to meet you all - I'd encourage everyone to take part in the Scottish runs - great group of people.

Disappointing weather at the very start, frustrating traffic (one particular 'heavy' and an unexpected Police closure of part of our route (for those who didn't hear it was a landslide which closed the road) led to us having to take the very poor surfaced route we had tried to avoid all along! Great initiation to leading a run - Best laid plans eh! Despite this a most enjoyable day and a lovely finish for us at St Abbs - beautiful and well worth the journey - 278 miles 29.7mpg average.

Thanks ZermattV and JaxZ4 - a memorable day! :driving:

+2 - thanks for a great run guys, as ever thanks for the warm welcome and for looking after Wee Bing :D

That was a fantastic day out, and yes I am also still reliving that last section in my head with a big grin... Awesome road. Delighted to say my gaffer tape is worn right through

Great photos so far... WB has loads of photos but we'll not get a chance to go through them until Wednesday earliest - I shall post them up when I get a chance. In the meantime though, I'd like to nominate Craig for a YPLAZ4C award

You Park Like A Z4 Coupe :o  - that's low! Any parking of Craig's is overshadowed by the abandoned Focus in the background though!

Good to meet you all and I loved the B6355, let's just do Duns to Edinburgh again :driving:

It was the first time the Z4M had been out in the rain too  But worthwhile :D

Where's next?

HA-HA...I always park over 2 spaces where possible, saves the paintwork from being dinged by some t**t,lol.
Anyway, at least you liked my driving, Alan, if not my parking/assuming you were serious about enjoying driving behind me :D

Was good to see you again, (and wb), and your car was lookn good. This was the 1st meet I hadn't washed my car for :o

It was a genuine pleasure Craig - very easy to drive off, and meant I could concentrate on enjoying it. I also loved being followed by a red M :D

Was a great meet, and Big Thanks to Rob, Jack and Paul for organising and leading the great routes. Also Angus for his leading stint...a good pace set by all as always, fast but safe

I enjoyed all sections, and we didn't even hit much traffic(bar that trucker who wouldn't do the decent thing and move over :headbang: ), the Kielder forest was a nice route, well chosen Paul n Steph........the last section to Duns was the best though, really enjoyable :driving:

Was good to meet e everyone again, as well as some new faces...hope you folks become regulars to the meets now

420-ISH Miles all in and avg 30mpg on route to meet-point, 25.6 mpg for the whole day, spent mainly in 3rd gear between 3 & 7k rpm :D :driving:
