must be a SPECIAL spelling of the word! We all make typos! :headbang:

That is exactly how the "pwned" thing started...a typo. However, it is pronounced "owned". It is an internet thing.
He's right  But i must point out us gamers started it

From Wikipedia (the final authority on everything)

Because the word "pwn" has developed recently, and is primarily used in written form only, it has no single accepted pronunciation. Common pronunciations include "pone", "own", "pawn" and "poon" (compare cwm); "

Electronic Gaming Monthly editor SeanBaby was also one of the first to commonly "verbalize" the word, speaking the word "owned" after an abrupt "puh-" sound, as if bluntly laughing before using the jargon. This frequent pronunciation was later replicated on an episode of South Park.

I learn so much from you all!See I learned something new today too! Thanks for sharing and making us all as smart as you.

Talk about a hijacked tread this is it. Back to the tread. How many have signed up at the hotel. Of course that is in Ohio if you all remember. :D

I'm thinking it'll probably turn into a short cab ride - not safe to drive and probably too far to stumble after a fun evening, eh?

P.S. WELCOME CHRIS!!!! I'm AJ formerly of the Eastern PA ZSCCA, now with the SOCAL group. My old man is with the MIS-behavin' group just north of ya a state. Look forward to seeing you this fall!

If you signed up already you should have received this email today.

We are initiating the first phase of ZFest Registration. The basic plan is to allow you to create a user profile on the ZFest database where you will create a userid and password for yourself so that when final registration opens in January that we’re all ready. During this pre-registration phase we will verify your membership in the ZSCCA so that during final registration we can apply the discount for ZSCCA members. This process will also speed up final registration as all you will need to do is log-in to your account profile, verify the information and then select from the menu of events and options we will place on the final/full registration list in January.

Many of you have been asking about what will be the costs of the various events at ZFest. The following is a PRELIMINARY list of the expected costs that you will be asked to pay for during final registration in January. Please consider this list as a PRELIMINARY guesstimate of costs/charges.

Got my preregistration done. Kinda expensive so I may have to rethink a few things. I'm definitely interested in the car control clinic, and we pirates have to show up at the banquet. arrrrrrrrrrrrrr :)

Hi Smokin

A couple of others emailed us about the costs. The registration fee covers all of the expenses that are not associated with the dinners, boat and so forth. Putting on an event of this magnitude is very expensive. Event insurance, reception food and entertainment, program printing, facilities rentals, equipment rental such as tables, chairs, PA systems-the list goes on. Have you ever been to an Octoberfest? Most folks can't get out of their without spending several hundreds of dollars. By the way, if you are a member of the ZSCCA, you will be given a discount during the registration process.

We anticipated that many of the Homecoming attendees would experience "sticker shock". Most folks do not understand what it takes and costs to put on an event of this size. This past HC, I met with BMW to discuss the ZSCCA's intent to produce an annual event and they disclosed that their costs to put on HC is in the six figure neighborhood. They have been absorbing the cost each of the 12 years that HC was hosted. Between you and me, I am sure that they saw this as a marketing expense and probably wrote off the loss.

Since we are a club and not a business, we have nothing to "write off" and we need to insure that all of our expenses are covered. As far as the web developers go, every second of our/their time has been donated. As has the entire planning committee associated with ZFEST 2009.

I hope that this helps to answer some of your questions and I hope that everyone will consider attending ZFEST 2009.

Thanks! I know it's expensive to put on, I'll just have to prioritize. I think I booked a room the first day it was open! :D

(and yes, joined ZSCCA when I got back from Homecoming!)

Well, we are coming......

I paid for the Hotel already.....

I might want to do the car control clinic, but I may back out of that because, to my way of thinking, everyone will want to have a go at this and it will be just too crowded.

We will be doing the riverboat cruise and most likely the Saturday Awards Banquet & Park Access...

The only down side is I have to drive through WV and eastern Ohio....

Sorry if I offend anyone with that last statement, but I grew up in that area, and left for a reason....and NO it was not because the law was after me.....
