Zermatt's Targa 4S

How does it drive? How's the 4wd? :D 4S looks the best, but purists seem to love the 2S.. (secretly i'd be interested to try PDK - i think it'd make the power much more accessible)

I imagine you're correct tom. I bet there's a sweet spot in the <stupid fast cars> where PDK comes into it's own though, there must be a point at which cars are so fast you can't keep up manually, especially if you're trying to drive anywhere near the limit.

I bet i'd drive a country road faster (and no doubt in more control, therefore safer) with paddles than high speed manual downshifts.

All these pics of 911s... Just pspent half an hour trying to figure out how i can buy a GT3 - realised i cant :(

Always best to get a bit of the road below in shot from the car park :)

Yeah man maths doesn't work either - that equation somehow comes to the conclusion that only a 997.2 GT3 is acceptable, but costs more than a house deposit, and there's no way i can sneak that under the radar.

EXCEPT ... we MOVE to a RENTED house, i tell SWMBO i BOUGHT the place, and in fact buy the car?

Not that i have the money for that either. hmm...

jimmybell, remember I was a witness when she said that you could have it.

Can't remember the subject-to bit though ... 8)

bought to promote the new Targa by the Dealership CEO ........looks brilliant have no idea if the price is right. I am aware this might not do Inkey's bank balance any good

You are not doing anything to help my cause Zermatt

inkey$, from memory you have a garage with a raised part in there. You could always put your bed there when you are kicked out of the house

Just spent a very special couple of hours in the Targa- down to the local petrol head meet sunday meet then along some fantastic autumnal scottish roads - the low sunshine flickering through the Targa's roof with Han Zimmer's 1976 from Rush on the Bose Hifi - iI have really fallen for this car this morning .

Yesterday I was out with the local Porsche Club great and very sensible paced driving across some fantastic scottish roads .

Am i the only one that thinks that the autumn is the best time to be out in a sports car :driving: ( <- although i now need a PDK version of this smilie)

Nice :) I can't remember if you got that sports exhaust fitted or not, and if it is switchable, but that sure adds some background music that can not be bettered

You enjoy the PDK? For me when I had the test car, it became like driving my X5 with the flappy pedals in the end which is fine - but not for the ultimate enjoyment (for me and my limited use of this special car).

Sports exhaust fitted recently by the dealer with the sports button always on !

yep getting used to the PDK and as its the car i'll always drive i think its a great compromise - but i had Porsche fit the sports wheel with the flappy paddles rather than the original 997 buttons which if it baffled Chris Harris would have really baffled me.

Here are some photos of the meet yesterday taken from one of the Members

Cheers

PVR , have you met up with your local Porsche Club region - I've been pretty impressed so far with my local region, knowledgable and friendly chair and some good quality meets .

Not done so yet, missed the New Forrest meet at the motor museum which was a shame but was not in the country at the time.

sometime when i'm down in the lakes ( we have friends who live in cumbria) and your back from your travels - i might be so bold to ask if you could take some snaps of it !

I hope now the Zed has gone and considering the fun your old man has has in the Z4M he is repaying the favour with the loan of his carrera once in a while !
