I really enjoyed meeting everybody and putting faces to all of the weird forum names !

 cheers Alan!
No probs, just planning a few things for him to do in the next week or so. Anyone based between Leeds and Newcastle who fancies taking the bear for a few days, please just let me know - PM will be fine.

And thanks to Neil for the venue and organising - best meet I've been to in the 18 months I've been venturing out. Great to meet everyone I shook hands with

Nice to see you briefly Steve, sorry we didn't catch up properly. You going to the turnpike?

Another great turnout Neil  It's a beautiful setting.
Wish I had bottomless pockets to be able to do some of the mods that caught my eye on various cars.

Here's to the next one.

There's absolutely no need to be a pleb. If you want to drive like a moron it's entirely up to you. But to poke fun of myself and my partner (who had our 8 year old in the car with her) is not on.

It is a real show of your driving prowess pointing a car in a straight line and putting your foot down. No wonder BMW drivers get such a bad rep.

You seem to be doing a good job of it yourself, who is poking fun at you?! Nobody made you do anything you didn't want to and you could easily have carried on with driving miss daisy at 60/65mph but the fact we wanted to go faster didn't mean you had to. Stuart led the convoy safely with HIS son in the car and kept his speed to double figures (with half the journey at 50mph through the roadworks) so I don't now where you get the ludicrous speeds you spoke about earlier! We are all adults (despite your response and playground name calling) and if you won't want to join in, don't, its as simple as that and to suggest your day was spoilt by it is ridiculous! It is no wonder Sunday drivers get such a bad rep

I was too busy taking pictures to look at the speedo Rob :poke: but couldn't have been that quick as my little 2.5 kept up fine :P

Especially with all that extra steel you have to carry around with you :poke:

considering I'm on the only one that replied back to you is this aimed at me??

i replied with....

as long as you weren't involved, don't let it stress you out and just keep away from those that choose to do that, i wouldnt let it ruin an fantastic day, id have simply split away from the pack... phi and I l literally cruised along at around 50-75mph and was more than happy with those speeds and was regularly overtaken by the general traffic.

i haven't seen one post from myself or anyone poking fun at you, simply keep away from anyone driving like a knob....

I'm actually lost why thats such a hard concept to grasp, name and shame the people we are talking about also, instead of passively saying "people"... not everyone was driving like a loon that day and if you do name them I'm sure the forum will stand by your words.

I must have been up front in a completely different convoy?

Not once even on the rare stretches of clear road did I exceed double digit speeds, and quite often where there was clear space behind I brought the pace right down to allow everyone to form up after filtering past the traffic.

For someone to be doing the speeds you mention they must have been hanging a long way back and taking a long run, but I certainly didn't witness anything of the sort in my mirrors!

Stu.

My post was not at all aimed at you. Sorry if you felt that it was. It was aimed at those who felt the need to take the piss out of my concerns for their speed. I'm by no means a driving miss daisy, but have respect for other road users. If I knew they'd drive like that I'd never have met up to join the convoy. To keep up with the convoy I was doing speeds in excess of 100mph, at which point several of the others flew past making me look like I was standing still ( I have this on my dash cam) at this point I bailed out to a respectable speed.

I'm a real sucker for bad driving, I deal with the consequences of when that kind of driving goes wrong on an almost daily basis.

Anyway, it didn't spoil my day.

Thanks Neil and all the organisers that made this such a great event . I loved just wandering around with tea in hand looking at everyone's pride and joy . It was also nice meeting fellow forum members face to face . As per usual the South East Hooners made a weekend of it leaving Kent early on Saturday and getting home late this afternoon . Without wishing my life away I look forward to this event next year

So on an open forum you admit to driving in excess of 100mph and then want to bitch about the way others were driving? :headbang:
