Zed cleaned

Decided to make the most of the good weather today to clean the zed.

Started with the engine compartment which was in need of a good clean as it was full of greasy mechanics finger marks as a result of my 5 month battle to get the zed fixed. Used Chemical Guys Silk and Shine Dressing and now its all clean and shiny just as it should be :)

Washed using 2 bucket method using Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash
A few marks which needed my attention and they were dealt with using Meguiar's Scratch X
Polished with DoDo Juice Lime Prime
Waxed using DoDo Juice Rain Forest Rub
Tyres dressed using Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel

Very good, but you strut brace is on the wrong way round. :poke:

I know srhutch, it has been like that since I bought the car. I have searched the forum and although I agree it should be pointing forward, it would then fit directly over the oil filler cap and also sit tightly against the air intake tube. The general consenus and solution from the various threads was to fit it backwards. Not had any issues and not sure what the downsides would be if any, but the dealer has just fitted it back in that direction as well after working on my zed. :?

Ah yes, i recall this now with the N52 engine. Cant see that it would make any difference.

Christ! did you take that picture from a Z4 brochure?

Looking (very) good :)

Looking good! The only thing to check with the brace being on backwards is that the cut outs in the mounts aren't damaging the corresponding raised parts on the tower. If I remember correctly they are keyed in a minor way. That's how I worked out which way around mine should be.
