Almost wrote off my zed

On the way back from a pleasant few days in Southwold yesterday :driving: some idiot pulled out from a side road, he didn't stop at the give way, just came straight out in front of me. I was doing a sedate 40mph or so, admiring the Suffolk countryside on a beautiful day.

I slammed on the brakes obviously and turned to avoid what seemed to be an inevitable collision, :o somehow we didn't make contact, a heart stopping moment. Worst experience in all my 50 odd years motoring.

Out and about locally in the zed today, I found myself slightly paranoiac and regarded all other road users with suspicion and mistrust :?

You should have had the wife with you, she’d have seen it a mile off. :D

I have done that every day for 40 years! :)

I told my daughter from day one of her driving "presume that every other road user is an idiot and isn't paying attention".

She was obviously distracted having a go at you for what you did or didn’t do earlier in the day
Or more likely on a day in 1998. Women seem to have excellent memories spanning decades when needed; yet mine never knows where she put her keys an hour ago.

Oh, I see you have met my wife at some time.

Do you get the one where she bollocks you for something she thought you might do but didn’t 😂

Good to hear your brakes work and your heart is still functioning correctly. Had a few of those over the years the last one killed my Zed. :(

They are amongst us . We were out a couple of days ago ( not in Z4 ) not speeding like yourself and had 3 almost incidents where people just pulled out without looking and I was in a large SUV with daylight running lights on

My heart is fine, the pacemaker I had implanted 6 months ago fixes my pulse at 60bpm, no probs there!

Does not matter for white van drivers as they deliberately do that

Bet it wasn’t at 60 after that incident :o

I often find Hyundai drivers an obstacle, although TBF most of them are in some sort of Tucson van!

I'm glad you managed to avoid the idiot dr_john.
