Probably wet laps
That's what I thought too, but they're marked if wet. Quite odd, although nice to think an M will outpace a GT3 :)

on power to weight ratio alone you'd expect an m3 csl to be quicker than a z4m, so id say the results are fairly inconclusive..

i drove Simmers for a very short while. It had manual transmission and the clutch was heavier than a trucks clutch and the gear shift was awful. go for the flappy paddle one if you can.

the M/// on the other hand was nimble and easy to position on the road.

Just my opinion.

I'm definitely selling my ZMC in the new year and currently looking at options ...I've always fancied an Aston but for me would have to have dealer warranty so prob be around 45-50k which is stretching budget a little . I also feel I'm still a little young for an Aston yet.

Replacing the Z4M is not easy.

Since eliminating an cayman and most probably the Aston , I'm now seriously looking at Evoras . Prices are reasonable and although the NA version is undoubtably slower than the ZM , they look awesome ...orange with black wheels for me , I had this combo on my exige

One would imagine, but this fault was found during a regular £2k service!

If it were me, I'd honestly buy an XKR instead, prettier, cheaper, more practical and more reliable.

I LIKE THAT IDEA!

Great cars the Vantage especially the sound - nothing can compare to that unique roar.

That being said, I had a quick drive in one a few years back and wasn't really overwhelmed by the power build. Despite having more power, it just felt heavy... ohh i'm sure the rpm dial goes anti clockwise :o :o . Really depends on what you're looking for in a car - it would certainly tick all the boxes of a replacement to the Z.

Best to test drive a few and see what you think...

The outright power numbers of the Aston mean nothing... It is at least 200kg heavier than a Z4M. I have had pulls against them on the Autobahn from 60mph till the limiter and the Z4MC is noticeably faster. It is only the later versions with the 4.7ltr engine which can hold their own against the Z4M. Great looking cars, but I prefer their spiritual predecessor - the Porsche 928GTS. After all, the man who conceived the concept of the GTS at Porsche - Dr Ulrich Bez - runs Aston Martin now...

V12 Vantage would be a step up from a Z4MC, V8 Vantage less so or maybe not at all

Although it is rumoured you can fit a Jaguar XKR supercharger to the 4.2 engine

I've had a Z4MR and a V8V Roadster

Looks: Aston all day long

Driving:Z4M

Peace of Mind: Z4M

Which would i buy again? Z4M

Both cracking motors in that photo  they look awesome! :)

MMM I love the way you've angled the photo, that bush in the foreground appears to have a nipple now. Perfect

Hi

no i'm not - the RR isn't mine :)

I'm seriously tempted to get back into an M if I can find the right one ;)

After Aston's and 911's, apart from my Lotus's it's the one car I have really missed!
