Z4mC ruby black , CSLs , sat nav , 35k £15950

I'm not having much interest in the car ....

Can I ask honest opinions on why ? I think it's reasonably priced , however I understand its not in the best condition . I don't have much time at the moment but thinking I may need to do the repairs ( refurb wheels , touch up leather and remove one small ding) this would bring it to prestige condition but also perhaps justify a slightly higher price ?

Settling with finance company , would this put you off ? I've had one guy do a complete uturn when I explained that its quite common for the buyer to make a transaction to the finance company on sale . I have double confirmed this with the company they just need a phone call on the day .

I'm not prepared to lower it much more , I'm almost forced to sell with my business venture in full steam , urgently needing another van /4x4 but not pushed for silly offers .

It's currently sitting in the drive doing nothing much apart from eating a large chunk of my monthly outgoings .

Honest opinions please .

Would be scared to death of finance. Double whammy - you pay some company and still might not end up with a car if there is more outstanding elsewhere.

Just my opinion as I don't "do" finance.

Yeah I can understand , but for me as a buyer if the company confirmed the outstanding amount , in writing for example and I knew I was clearing that balance I wouldn't have any issue but I do understand its easier without this situation .

settling finance would not worry me once i had met the seller at the house where the car was logbooked & got a "feel" for the car/sale .
being brutally honest but not wanting to upset other Z4Mc , the car is overpriced for a private sale :? by around £2k :o
currently on other post http://www.grahamwalker.co.uk/bmw-z4-m-fbmwsh-sat-nav-low-miles-mint-in-chester-2413926
as with anything whatever someone will pay is what something is worth :| if you get zero interest in 2 weeks advertising then take heed
my personal opinion if you want a sale this side of xmas is it would have to be nearer £14k

That's a nice example . I thought genuine CSLs with almost new assametrics , ruby black and AUC warranty would justify my price a little , 14k is too low ...would prefer to keep hold of ...again !

To be honest (and you did ask) you've answered the question yourself and sorting the condition issues would be a good place to start... It's a niche car and buyers will be looking for tip top condition in a buyers market. Anything else will point to the car possibly not having been cared for. Issues with outstanding finance will always put some people off I'm sure - its one thing that scares people off buying privately... Bottom line is it will always sell if the price, condition and history match up. If not, particularly in the current climate you will struggle like fook.

whilst the above help the car sell they would not necessarily increase the price to what the items cost :|

Outstanding finance shouldn't put people off as long as it's just one company and validated by HPI. I cleared finance on #69 when I bought her.

As others have said, your price is a little high. Your consideration needs to be how much do you need to stop the outgoing payments and raise money. If you really need to put finance into the business and free up capital, then whatever you can get over what you owe is good news.

Not what you want to hear, but you're paying interest and the car is depreciating so you need to think about a stoploss position.

Spot-on I reckon, Q: at what point in time might you accept that it's either worth less than you hoped, or it has depreciated to the current 'feel' price of about £14k Dec? Feb? march? in which case isn't it better to take a sale at that sort of figure now. Either way I'm sorry to see someone making such a tricky choice about a special car :(

Ouch! So realistically, you need to balance depreciation and interest against what you can reasonably get for the car. If you have the original wheels, you might get a better price splitting them from the car. If not, tidy up everything, make it mint and GLWTS!

You cannot let this go for £14k !!

I know you're pushed to sell, and there is always "wise words" from people on the Internet about what a car is worth, what someone will pay etc.

The reality is, even at £16k - that's nothing for a car. What else can someone buy for £16k that has the performance, styling, uniqueness, presence, etc etc.

It's slow selling because it's a very niche car and it's a very tough Market at the moment. If you have patience, and no financial pressure you must wait, economy could well be starting to pick up over next 6 months. If you drop to a stupid price then it is more likely to sell and if you are in a tight spot, then so be it. But you'd be robbing yourself.

Just my opinion, I expect lots of experts will chime in now talking the price down further, but honestly very little is selling at the moment, and even at £16k this is a bit of a bargain. (but you have to sort the condition out- I wouldn't go near car in that condition)

i'l wait & watch with interest but you can't value a car on what you owe on it or what performance it gives .
there are many motors out there to match the performance for much less £££
what the seller needs is a dedicated Zm buyer who knows what they want & what the market is about .
which is probably why the car is unsold . . . . go nearer the £14k & although no stampede there should at least be interest & you only need 1 buyer 8)
GLWTS

Not in anyway being argumentative but can you give me some examples (I didn't mean just outright performance but the whole combination of M, BMW, low volume coupe, unique/specialness.)

The overall condition looks alright to me, except the seat bolster which should be an easy fix.

I suspect that sports cars sell slowly in Scotland at this time of year since snow is not uncommon. Most importantly, the outstanding finance would put off many people unless the car is a steal. Can you use a loan to clear the finance then repay the loan when the car's gone? That way you'll be selling an "HPI clear" car.

Have you got any more photos of the seats? In this pic from your Pistonheads ad, the seats look more like Dream Red than Imola and the door cards looks grey rather than black, but it could be just the light or the camera?
