anyone running one on the road to help the front a bit? if so which one.

or just tits on a bull situation.

thanks

I'm not an expert in aero but at road speeds I highly doubt it'll make any noticeable difference, on track is a different matter. Presume your talking about understeer?

You'd be better looking into your geo setup depending on what you want to achieve, though it's always a compromise.

hahaha no major US, balance is OK :driving:

I just noticed steering becoming extremely light passed 180kph. Not that I am doing it every day though. My car is also missing the underfloor covers, I was told these parts are standard for almost all cars across the same generation. Need to get it fitted eventually.

I was north of 260kph a couple of times yesterday and the steering felt fine to me? My car is modified but no aero. I don't remember it feeling particuarly unstable at similar speeds when I first had it stock either.
All your bushes okay, fcabs? Geo? For sure the front underbody components should be in place, I imagine they do a fair bit there aero wise at high speeds.
"I was told these parts are standard for almost all cars across the same generation" If you mean the standard e85/6 undertray etc is the same as the M version, I'm sorry to disappoint you but that is not true. M tax applies here :(

I wonder if having no undertray may have been a factor?

I don't know if E89s are the same but a forum member with an E85 facelift ended up with the steel sump pan leaking due to corrosion - and wondered if running without an undertray may not have helped as it was more exposed to the elements.

I don't think there is anything significantly wrong as it has been service at BMW ever since I bought it and they never mentioned anything out of place (other than the under floor). It's the only ones I can trust over here as I am not involved in garaging or tunning. But seeing Mr Tidy comments about corrosion I better get them fitted next time I service it.

This is what I am missing I guess https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=LL53-USA-08-2013-E89-BMW-Z4_28i&diagId=51_7259

I've noticed a clear difference on Autobahn (maybe more regular as a Swede) above 200km/h and certainly above 250 with or without front spoiler. As std, steering becomes very "light"... No wonder looking at that huge bonnet of ours, a large low-pressure area.
Also lowering made a positive difference. I suppose every little bit of airflow you can stop going under the car, that's good.

I can imagine not having an undertray would alter things too.
Certainly, a proof my spoiler/splitter make a difference is I had to make an extra middle support on my undertray to stop it being sucked to the ground, bulging down... :)
