I'm not an expert in aero but at road speeds I highly doubt it'll make any noticeable difference, on track is a different matter. Presume your talking about understeer?

I just noticed steering becoming extremely light passed 180kph. Not that I am doing it every day though. My car is also missing the underfloor covers, I was told these parts are standard for almost all cars across the same generation. Need to get it fitted eventually.

All your bushes okay, fcabs? Geo? For sure the front underbody components should be in place, I imagine they do a fair bit there aero wise at high speeds.

I don't know if E89s are the same but a forum member with an E85 facelift ended up with the steel sump pan leaking due to corrosion - and wondered if running without an undertray may not have helped as it was more exposed to the elements.

I don't think there is anything significantly wrong as it has been service at BMW ever since I bought it and they never mentioned anything out of place (other than the under floor). It's the only ones I can trust over here as I am not involved in garaging or tunning. But seeing Mr Tidy comments about corrosion I better get them fitted next time I service it.

I've noticed a clear difference on Autobahn (maybe more regular as a Swede) above 200km/h and certainly above 250 with or without front spoiler. As std, steering becomes very "light"... No wonder looking at that huge bonnet of ours, a large low-pressure area.
Also lowering made a positive difference. I suppose every little bit of airflow you can stop going under the car, that's good.
I can imagine not having an undertray would alter things too.
Certainly, a proof my spoiler/splitter make a difference is I had to make an extra middle support on my undertray to stop it being sucked to the ground, bulging down...
