We should ask the seller a question, ask if it's been in an accident or had any work done?
Reported it to eBay again. It's just so sly and cunning. This car has been in an accident, and the fact that no mention of this has been made is a real s**t*% thing to do.

Not wanting to cause a fight or an argument but if this is not recorded as a Cat C/D and has been repaired to a standard that no damage can be found where exactly is the problem other than the OP not saying it had been repaired?
If FR08MEE had not posted about his damage and had it repaired himself nobody would know at all.
There must be loads of cars out there that have been involved in accidents and repaired by insurance therefor not on any database as being a writeoff.
Lots of people could be selling cars that they do not even know had been previously repaired by a previous owner.
This has got to be a flaw in the whole system and surely ANY damage that has been repaired should be logged somewhere.

My wifes 1989 MR2 was rear ended, she told the repairers that she did not want it written off and somehow it was repaired.
The insurance company were not at all happy as the cost was around £2300 (almost the value of the car) but we were happy.
Now this would not have been on any database as far as I know and was repaired with absolutely no visible damage so we did not advise anybody about the repairs when we sold it.
Were we wrong to do this?

I can see an argument from both sides.
Clearly it's hpi clear, so it wasn't a category write off in the end. Therefore the seller is doing nothing illegal in not stating it was involved in an accident.
Morally wrong perhaps, but not illegal.
My missus' Fiesta got driven into by an old guy. Damage was just bodywork, but going by some peoples' responses on here, we should have told the Ford dealer we px'd it to, even though there is no need to if all is fine.
But yeah, maybe the seller shouldn't tell such a rubbish story to sell it. Would've been better if you just said it was for sale and not bothered with the rubbish about your wife/mum/whoever.
