I'v put a deposit down on this after viewing late yesterday

well done, what have you got now?

I had a Z4MR in carbon black but that got written off.

Iv been managing without a car since August.... Sold my aeros, Zhp and a few other bits.... In hindsight I should have kept them but I'll buy the bits as I go as I did with my last car :)

Shame I couldn't get the CH wheels off my old car and the H&S exhaust due to damage.

Just read this in the ///M watch posts - same Zed being mentioned as being written off?

Has anyone actually checked it is clear?

Very scary if a car can be reassessed & you happen to know a dodgy chap to assess it.

Agree and I always take the hpi clear thing with a pinch of salt because I have seen cars for sale that I have known to be clocked but the hpi check doesn't flag them up, its like anything I would imagine and for those in the know they can fiddle it whichever way they want.

Or maybe I am being too cynical.

The original salvage ad is still on ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z4-M-Sport-3-2-damaged-repairable-full-Dealer-history-2006-/361407733624?clk_rvr_id=936072172481&rmvSB=true

That says "possibly CAT D but currently not recorded". So the insurance company didn't record it? What's going on there?
Rear bumper looks ruined so how they managed to not replace that we can only guess and reflect on the high quality of the repair work undertaken....

Maybe thats how FR08MEE was able to get such a big increase in price from the original insurance offer

The assessor bought it instead of the insurance co.

The rear bumper has only superficial damage from what I can see. TBH if the seller had done this properly I would not have had an issue. Most of us were surprised to see it had been written off in the first place.

Couldn't agree more , cars get crunched & repaired day in day out
The real sly move here is the bullshit advert & pisstake price
At least they can look forward to next summer & open top motoring in a classic S54 powered roadster

Let's not take pity on this guy...! He's a complete tool who's spinning some B/S story about a car that's been no doubt done on the very cheap!

If he's fully legit let's see this car go through a full and proper inspection by a reputable independent and have them post up their report on it!

Exactly. Cheap right down to the mayrun tyres... no I hadn't heard of them either and no way would I put 338 bhp through them. If you bought a car for your wife to enjoy then you would not cut corners. If you are trying to make a quick buck then this is what it looks like. Really though what bothers me is if this car is safe. An mot means nothing.

I don't pity him for a second.

I had a spare RAC vehicle check (as i got 3 in Aug)

And guess what it is indeed clear :o

I dont get it..

The seller should be banned and ip address blocked... Spinning his BS story surly is a breach of the t&c somewhere.

Banning is easy, but I'm happier he has further posted and exposed what an appalling attitude he has and desire to rip off folks by concealing the reality of the car.

I do love the detective work and public slogging on this forum, it has to be one of the best on the net for it! Good work lads/lasses :)

Pretty clear cut to me; it's a fraudulent ad on eBay, using multiple usernames. So it has been reported.

People like you conned me out of £265 when I was 17 and had just bought my first pride and joy. I have an extremely short fuse for this sort of thing, so am more than happy to warn others of your despicable behaviour.

And I don't recall anyone getting a slogging that didn't deserve it

People that will slate this car are keyboard worriers

I've just re-read this and had to pick out this point (from the rest of the lies and horrific grammar/spelling).

You're quite correct. We are keyboard worriers. We want to know every little thing about our pride and joy, especially when we are spending £Xk or the second most expensive thing in our lives. So when a fellow human being has suggested the car is a total loss on first inspection, the rest of us good folk are likely to jump on the pack of lies that you have spewed, about your mother's auntie's friend's dog's hamster's car.

Be it a lesson to you. Fraudsters will get caught out in the end.
