Hi sorry this is my first post as my dad asked me to join up to advertise his car. Always use the forum just never registered. My dad is selling my mums z4m as its not a her car and really preffers to drive auto as she only just done her manual license so she wants a tts s tronic.
I will copy and paste the advert its currently on Gumtree but will be doing a ebay add soon.

Hi i am selling the wifes z4m which i originally bought for her to keep for future investment as she can now drive manual but she preffers to drive auto and the car being very long at the front and also being that its a quick rwd she gets nervous she really wants a mk2 audi tts in s tronic.

Its a great car to drive everything works as it should. Its a very rare colour which is called black quartz also known as carbon black (its a very dark navy blue colour that changes in different lights sometimes looks black).
Very powerfull car which sounds great when going i know the z4m are very sought after and a car that will rise in value especially when it becomes a classic. Its in excellent condition inside and outside and also the roof is perfect and very clean.
 
Help me guys I am a bit thick here - if this car was a Cat D - then how does a prospective purchaser find this out if the seller chooses not to declare?

With the full registration a simple check with the DVLA will show if it's been written off I believe ? Or an HPI check - you don't believe what you're told, you do it yourself :wink:

Great detective work from srhutch... As cj says, I'm sure he won't be back to explain himself...

'Selling on behalf of' always rings alarm bells. It's worth saying that a total write off can be for economic rather than 'physical' reasons, and if it's been repaired correctly then it's not necessarily a dog. But it's worth, what, £6k less than advertised ? And more to the point, how could you know it's been done right ? He's repaired it and tried to make a quick buck... If he always uses the forum he would know not to even come close to here with this car :lol:
 
Shouldn't we make it compulsory that a 'car' seller has a certain amount of time/posts before they can post a car for sale?

Should act as almost a perk for the genuine forum members to be able to advertise their car to an 'enthusiast' market place....

Let's hope this car doesn't get sold for a long long time and this seller learns an important lesson!
 
Took a look on Gum Tree, ebay, PH and AT. I can't see it for sale, at the moment. Hope no one has bought it, as described If I spot it and it's miss described. I will most certainly be reporting it. :thumbsdown:

Edit: it's up on ebay under a different seller ID :?

Might stop alot of the spam iPhone selling that appears every couple of weeks
 
Reason for the replacement exhausts is it failed its mot on November 17 for 'major leak of exhaust'.

Funny how it's last mot expired August 19. Guess it must have been off the road, being readied for the sting, not OP's wife's daily drive.

Oops - best not post in case I affect the sellers advert 8)
