I bought these to refurb for the zed but now I'm resigned to selling the zed with the new arrival meaning i need some back seats these are surplus to requirements. A few people had asked me for pics so here they are. I'm wanting £400 for them (no offers please). Wheels are sound although they will need a refurb where the laquer has gone due to a bit of kerbing

A perfect set with high performance tyres sell for £500-550

A good refurb will be £250, then some decent tyres...

Remember the set that went on here Tom for £800, now they were as new with Continental tyres, I sold a set that needed a refurb, had new front Continental tyres and just legal rears for £400 iirc so I don't think these are out of the way price wise.

Those Wellies are 90% Nylon. 10% Rub_Lyon.

The valves have more rubber than the tyres.

Just saying, not slandering your wheels, half interested to be honest!

I was a bit surprised by the tyres but then they wouldnt fit the 3.0si so wasnt too bothererd - Theres loads of tread on them so you'd probably get some cash back on ebay selling them on. I think you'd be lucky to pick up a set of these wheels for £250 and if you buy them with a refurb already the who knows what damage has been covered over? No worries though if no-one is interested i'll leave them in the shed and put them on ebay in the summer (if we get one!)

I hope no one does or they will end up in a ditch. £550 is the going rate for a good set. £800 is CSL territory, your CSLs were cheaper than £750 weren't they Daz?

Yep they were Tom, only just noticed the tyres tbh, my bad :-)

Think the price is a bit on the steep side for the condition. I had my set of 224's refurbed and powder coated for £320 then there is a new set of good quality tyres required at about £500+ on top of purchasing the alloys at £400, so a total of £1220+. :( That outlay cost would be to high for me. There has been a set of 224's on flea bay for ages at £1100 which is also to high a price, probably why they are not selling!

As Tom TVR says in that thread

"I think the problem you have is who wants to buy these wheels? Z4M owners already have these wheels or have upgraded so don't need them. Standard Z4 owners would have the wheels but the tyres are the wrong fittment so the car would sit too high."

The wheels aren't worth that much as the demand isnt high and there are lots... As most are upgraded. Many buy them because they are cheap upgrade. Few are die hard fans but they aren't exactly BMWs best design and they aren't double dish either so not very aggressive. A set of high performance tyres are 650-1000 for this fitment on an M.

A good refurb from lepsons is £65 a wheel. So you have £400 for the wheels... tyres well... I won't comment, £260 for a refurb unless you do it yourself, but doing all 4 and the amount of curbing will be a lot of work. Then £650 depending on your preference of tyre. So base to make them perfect is 400+260+650= £1310

If doing the work yourself then fair play but still think they are expensive.

there was a set of refurbed wheels up for £900 on ebay but someone must have taken the plunge as they seem to have disappeared. Ive not particularly seen any much cheaper than these but as tom scott rightly points out those as new 224's were good value and I've not been looking for a while as I got these last year.

If the consensus is that they are too steep then ill perhaps take an offer if theres a quick pain free collection... just don't expect me to accept £250! :poke:

with all due respect, I can't see as negotiating on the price is playing a fair game if you have no wish to buy them. maybe they're expensive, maybe they're a steal, but as far as I can see no one's driving my gran to the cash point to pay for these, so i'm not massively fussed what the price is. :)
