I will admit that I didn't know/have a clue how unreliable the engine can be when I had mine back in 2013(I only did 10k miles in mine and it was a low mileage car). In saying that my brother in law hasn't had any issues with his in 8 years of ownership(he doesn't do many miles though in fairness).ph001 said:You also need to be very aware of the reliability issues affecting the S65. Google "S65 reliability" to get a heads up.
I was pleased that the M3/M4 went Turbo because I will admit that I do enjoy the effortless torque(especially as a daily). I agree though that the noise they make isn't very inspiring for sure sadly.tomscott said:The F80 gen fixes all the above issues, stupid fast in every gear but it sounds awful imo. Every time I hear one set off from a set of lights makes me cringe. Like a lawn mower but worce.

Feel heavy and ponderous and feels 200bhp most of the time, unless you thrash it to death, then it breaks.
The F8x is a much nicer car,but in true BMW style the engines are dropping like flies at the moment.

Perhaps I’m a bit cynical, we look after 3 x E93 M3’s and they have all cost the owners plenty of cash .
Throttle bodies and injectors seem to be this year’s favourite faults so far.
Personally for the same money I would much prefer a C63 , or an RS4...
Still
Doesn’t stop me thinking the E9x M3 is the worst M3 Bmw have ever built

It would have to be the vert for me though, i know its a heavy car but is it really floppy these days?
