pvr said:Yes, another forum member just bought one of those (645). Major failure within a couple of days or buying it (54 plate). The expansion tank exploded, denting the bonnet as well, fan needs replacing.

Compared to M3s and M5s of the same year they have fewer potential problems. DRC suspension is an issue on anything Audi fitted it to. You can just replace the whole lot with Koni's or something for about £1k. Timing chain rattle is a thing, most rattle for a second on start up, if it goes on longer worry. Trouble is the tensioner is made of plastic and falls apart due to slack until the oil pressure builds up. It can be upgraded but it's an engine out job so scary price. Expect to average either side of 20mpg.
