z4m sprint championship on going times/progression..

I'd like to know more about this one:

"nt) 2) Stephen Morrison – Lotus Elise S1 –1’23.6"

Even the very hottest (and very rare) standard S1 only has 190 bhp and the base model just 118!

It was a lovely car basically a racing car with a later engine transplant, permanent hard top with big wings and diffusers , it made that time look effortless and could carry speed in a way my lardy car could only dream about , that car could be as quick as the Caterham if he tries and man can drive it was full of stickers from competing . I dig out some pics of it

Sadly no clean pics of it but you can just catch it's livery in the back ground here

Byron,

Well done with the overall 3rd place!

thankyou :-) very pleased.

Once i'd topped the class ( done on the second lap of the day) i took off m helmet and just messed around and actually enjoyed myself, slowed down and really start trying to learn the braking zones etc...

for road compound tyres those nankang ns-2r are incredible.... perfect blend between road and track and look like their will take a beating too... can't wait to switch to the race compound ones , make a few adjustments to the suspension and start getting serious!!

mission 1.25 is coming.

The tyres are taking some serious abuse . here's how their looking after 3 full day sessions .
One session in serious heat . at 550 a set, so so so good..... definitely not 888 performance but i need to try to track compound to compare but very impressive non the less.

very even wear, cars running -2.8 negative camber to combat outer shoulder wear, you can see they melted got alittle too hot at some stage.

This is the road compound semi slick, their is a dedicated track compound.

Excellent very well done

Can't believe those clio's doing 1.30's very impressive :)

yeah definitely we have some Ex actual CUP cars and for 8k those things are well into the super car times...

TBH..... get a saxo/ 106 gti, strip it out, a tiny amount of tuning, cage, slicks and you have a 1.30 car all day long.... to put that into perspective it took nigel pugh, the r500 owner ALL day to reach 1.29. in his 911 4wd with PDK , and he absolutely canes the s**t out of that thing....

so basically a 3-4k saxo/clio will murder alot of faster cars when prepped properly, awesome way into seriously fast times, problem is they break all the time.

already booked onto the next one :-)

aiming to finish off the tyres next time and replace, 4 days and a brand new set of tyres wiped out !!   lol!

As always interesting read! Why is the M3 in the super car class but the z4m is in the over 2 litre class? And they're both supercharged?

yup its a DCT, v8 m3, caged, winged, supercharged 650 car..... i have no idea why he's in the super car class, it guess its more super car than mine. :poke: :poke: :poke:

Nice going Beedub, and your car looks as mint as ever

Do you ever find yourself wide awake at 3am worrying that your Z's roof motor will be the first ever to fail from boredom though :poke: :P

lol!! the roof is off now and in my spare room, haven got another event for a while so will just enjoy some open top motoring for a little while!! i can lie however, i don't miss it much now days, i can really take it or leave it tbh, but its nice to have the choice.

Next event ill try with the roof off, so lets see if the 25kg weight loss makes a difference, i think aero wise it'll just create to much drag, with the HT on the car is much more slippery with a very well placed integrated spoiler.

proof is in the pudding.

I'd expect the weight saving to be more useful on a sprint course - can't imagine the speeds are high enough for aero to make a big difference. Happy to be proved wrong - do you run a data logger? It would be interesting to see your VMax and VMins.

yes stack data logger which also logs all boost, water and oil temps to an SD card.
