Z4M service stamp issue

Why would there be an invoice? The 1200 miles service is free, no invoice involved at all, just the dealer stamp in the book.

Sadly this isnt quite true on my first one bought in 2006 it was free on the second bought in 2008 I was charged for it and was told that BMW werent paying for these services anymore

erol.... this sounds like a freaking nightmare!!!!! hope you get it sorted but i bet its even more so making you want rid of the bmw.

Sorry to hear of your issues and as you say a hard lesson to learn by not getting the right documentation prior to handing over your hard earned dish. Can't really believe the story of the book going missing in the post. Sounds like a convenient excuse/lie to cover up a failure by the seller to get the right service history. April until now (December) is a long time to have allowed this matter to drag on and will I feel jeopardise any legal remedies you may be considering. I think this is an issue you are going to have to live with.

The dealer was bloody slow getting the book sorted then i was on holiday when it arrived with them then they wanted to post the book which i refused as i didn't want the mess of it going missing again. By time i collected the book and realized the issue and starting doing some investigation time had flown away and yes a lesson learned don't be so trusting of others and also don't be a twat like me.

op the stress you are giving yourself over this is never worth it, if for arguments sake the stamp was there but the service was'nt actually done, you would be none the wiser but totally happy, the car is super low miles will very probably never miss a beat, my advice whether right or wrong is to put your service book away , go and drive and enjoy the car you longed for , one day when ,a few thousand miles down the road , when you have got to know and trust the car, get out the service book , find a friendly mechanic at a dealer, or independent, and somehow get the book stamped, that will satisfy any potential purchaser, you were told the 1200 service was done, it was oilchanged at 4k anyway, that car will be going fine for many years to come, people on here sometimes spread doom and gloom over issues that at the end of the day dont really matter that much,....bin there wheni bought my carbon black coupe, everything is fine and i love the car but like you ther was a minor issue over length of time between pre delivery check and sale, think about it would you rather have your car with those miles and no stamp or the same car with another 30k on but with a stamp in the book ? which by the way still doesent catorgorically prove bugger all, unless we stand over the mechanics servicing our cars we dont know whats been done really , do we ? and finally as i have said many times before, a fully stamped service book still doesnt mean the car is any better looked after than one cherished by its owner and serviced by an indy. you bought the car for enjoyment,, enjoy it . good luck :driving:

I agree with your post i have enjoyed every second of owning and driving the car its never given me any trouble its always put a smile on my face even when i open the garage the door and just look at the car it makes me grin. My only issue is that ive decided to go for a nissan GTR whilst i have a chance and want to put the car up for sale and have held back for now due to this issue as i know it will effect the value by 2k roughly. Also when i bought the car about 7months ago it was with a full service history and i was assured this by the owner of the garage and thats why i went for it. I just today sent a request for the previous owners to the dvla to get to the bottom of this headache and worst comes to worst will have to sell it as it is. But i will not be financially ready to purchase a GTR until feb/march so im willing to wait and see the outcome of this.
