Z4M Roadster Pistonheads auction

Well I'm the buyer!

Not had a Z4 since 2006 so this is quite exciting. Used to be a member on here but couldn't remember username or email.

Hi congratulations on winning the car , Iam the seller obviously 😂 you won’t be disappointed glad it’s going to get some use as I haven’t used it much , hence the very low mileage.

I'll be in touch to organise collecting once PH officially introduce us, I paid their 6% +VAT this morning.

I'll probably get someone to trailer it back up to be honest, it's coming to the Wirral.

Easy £1k for PH anyway.

I struggle to see why sellers are using PH auctions to sell their cars. Lots of cars aren't making the reserve prices and the cars that do sell are often at the cheaper end of the market.

Buyers have to account for the PH fees. It's the seller that is losing out. If PH was drawing in a larger customer base and cars commanding premium prices the fees could be justified. However, they aren't.

Is it just me...

I think £15250 for that car is really good money. Especially as the MOT has rust on the subframe (As we know not a big deal but there is work to do)

I have a 06 with every spec ticked and a rare combo 1-4 at 79k and thought I would struggle to get £10k for it in the current market.

Edit: I didnt realise they were real CSLs... definitely would have removed them. The CSLs with tyres and the eventuri are like 2.5k extras. so more like £12750.

Its because owners arent realistic with the prices in the market. See my comment above about my car. Minimum price on autotrader for a Z4MR is like £11k and that car has 90k on it. There next cheapest has 128k and £11.5k.

Cars that are 70-100k at 12-13.5k realistically in this market place are worth far less and are sitting around because of it. This auction shows a lower mileage car at 37k and a late 08 plate without the extras (CSLs/Eventuri) would be more like £12750.

Buyers market and they are the ones putting their money where their mouth is.

It'll sit on my driveway with a Conti GTC, 911 Turbo S, Taycan Turbo S and a Q7. It was an impulse purchase because I used to have a Z4 and bloody loved it, I'm going back to my early 20s with this, albeit it with a bigger budget. The plan is to make it as fast as it'll possibly go, starting with a supercharger. I'll detail everything I do on here.

It'll be fully restored with everything that needs doing on it being done so paying a little over the odds doesn't concern me too much, not that I feel like I did with the intake and the wheels.

Congratulations to buyer and seller. Looking forward to seeing the plans unfold that the new owner has in store for it

Congratulations on the purchase mate and tbh I don't think you have paid over the odds - like you say an easy £1k for PH but at least it sounds like you and the seller got what they wanted

Look forward to seeing you're progress updates once you get going.

Congratulations to you and budgie 195.

It will be joining a great fleet and your plans sound brilliant. You might want to start a new thread for your ownership experience.
