Z4M Rival.....

Just had this from a TT forum - a car I looked at before the Z4M Coupe.

It looks like the newly launched RS is very close to the Z4M in terms of BHP (340) but with a bit more torque.....

0-60 times seem quite close.

Seems to suffer the same problem as the M Coupe - not to dissimilar to the normal car....

Mmmm think I would be gutted if it was quicker than the Z!! I'm sure it probably weighs more and will suffer more drivetrain losses though.

Would still choose the BMW or Cayman first though.

I'm sorry but TTs are hairdresser's cars. For me it's a bad case of over design. I'm really starting to dislike Audi, especially since they launched those hideous "daytime driving lights" which for me just turn a decent sober design into a chav mobile. If it's daytime (therefore light outside) why exactly do they feel we need LEDs?

Rant over. Sorry Steve, i just don't like it at all!

Its a ridiculous amount of money for a TT to be honest and nowhere near the class of an RS4/RS6.

I know its on a par with the original cost of the Z4M's but even these were over priced.

I don't agree with you outrun re: hairdressers car (each to their own) but all Audi's are too similar now. The Mk1 TT was a classic design, and the Mk2 will never reach those heights. I had a 3.2 V6 Mk2 on order and then saw the Z4 coupe - immediately cancelled and the rest is history. So glad I did.

Becoming compulsory on new cars in the next few years though :(. Very chavtastic.

Just seems a hell of a lot of money for a TT, that's what I can't get over. I know it's a similar price to what the Z4M cost, but somehow that's different!

Pretty much the way I feel as well...

lol! You'd all curse me..>As soon as i'm in the car the Xenon's are on! :) Sunny, Nighttime what have you there on!

I love the new TT also, my pal has a TT-S. Interior is stunning! :) More so than the BM tbh!

I don't think the new TT's a bad looking car, and the old model is a classic design. Say what you like about the image of the car, but the last one was a classic shape.

I almost bought a 2.0T new-shape TT at auction in a moment of weakness before buying my Z4

Don't really understand what you mean but white Z4mc's are just amazing. :driving:

Just pointing out that the TT cries hairdresser and is a shopping trolley (as per the handle on the boot) - whereas the Z4MC is neither!

Dunno, sort of looks like all those Japanese pocket rockets--Acura, et al.

Looked at a TT when they first came out--too much $$ for a prettied up Beetle.

If it is like the old TT with bucket seats and carbonfibre, it wont be good. I hope they make it a better car but I wouldn't choose it personally over an M Coupe....

The only advantage of the TT-RS over the M is its 4WD capability. As good looking as I think it is, it comes nowhere close to the great looks of our Zeds. Also, I feel the level of sophistication of the TT just isn't on par with the Z4s (to me, the TT still screams "boy racer" vs. proper sports car). That's why I wouldn't go for a TT.

As far as the debate goes regarding the TT's "hairdressery" stigma, I'm sure the same argument could be said of the Z4R, or the Porsche Boxcter/Cayman, etc... it's a frivolous argument that would garner no winners.

With the introduction of the TT-RS (or even the 370Z for that matter), it's nice to see there are several valid options to choose from now compared to years past. What people will realize is how far ahead of it's time the Ms were before getting serious rival(s) to compete with. Given the choice today, I'd still buy an M. 8)

Nissan 370z will be absolute Junk just like the 350z, Not even in the same league as the Zed and a insult to compare it to it :x :x
I know i previously worked for Nissan for 8 years,

Strange comment. I had a 350Z before my M and loved it. In fact in some ways I still miss it. I think the 370Z will be a belting car for the price. Its about the driving experience not the badge for me. Evo give the 350Z 5 stars, the Z4M gets 4.5

The looks of the TT RS dont really float my boat, but I'm sure it will be a competent car to drive if not as exciting as the M. But I wouldn't pay over £40k for ANY new car in the current climate. You could get an M3 / RS4 / 911 for that money with some of the depreciation already taken out.

I guess it's just because i saw them braking down everyday, poor build quality, and Nissan uk's lack of technical knowledge regarding there own products.

Each to their own opion a ?
