Anyone know whether the loom in place on the 06 has the heating wire already attached so just a case of plugging it in? Or is a new loom required? Also anyone got the wiring diagram?

You can buy a loom from BMW or make your wiring up as other on here have done.

IIRC Rob Davey made his own so you could drop him a PM

No i used the bmw one, if you made up your own you'd have to get the right gauge wires for the different connections as the heated seats use pretty beefy cable. without another loom to copy it would be a tuff job unless you had an original wiring diagram i would have thought.

Ok so I need a loom just wondering if I took the one from the coup whether it would work? Just thinking it may not as the back of the switch set may not be the same as a roadster so the pin block on the loom maybe different. Any ideas?

You wouldnt swop the whole loom but you would have to seperate out the heating element cables, you could also get the electric seat base cables as well

Ok so looks like I'm going to have to get the loom. Anyone got the parts number? Also anyone have bmw instructions and wiring diagrams to fit them? Cheers

Get yourself a copy of BMW's TIS from fleabay for instructions, and try www.realoem.com for part numbers or your dealer should be able to help.

I almost bought these, so I guess I was the guy whom they were sold to. I didn'y buy in the end as he kept dicking me about on the price. Fist it was £600 for the interior, then £650 for the seats and £80 each for the door cards, then when I threatened to walk away, it was £650 for the lot.

Just couldn't be arsed in the end.

Fair play though.

Yeh. He is acomplete c**k.

Never met anyone so unhelpful. Will avoid him in future. The good news is I've cleaned them and they have come up really well. :D

Sorry for my ignerance but is that the cylinder thing next to the seat bely clip? If so I'm missing one and a buckle but should be fine to take it off my current seats and swap it. Other than that I cant see any other things missing or damaged.

Have looked at the door card and thought I would just be able to unclip the leather section a clip it onto my current door. However on taking out the speaker disc, door handle and door pull it looks as though it is glued on? Has anyone managed this sucessfully?

Reason why I dont want to use it all, is one side is slightly damaged.

You can't separate the leather insert from the rest of the door card without cold chiseling through about 2 metres of plastic weld on each side. I did it on mine but it's a real challenge and effort, but I had reason to need to.

However, that will make your own seats unsaleable though ...

Not if you sell them to the VW camper van brigade who seek them out for their conversions. They don't need pretensioners and all that and can easliy pick up fab up a suitable seat belt mount point. Thets' what happened to my old seats and the guy travelled 400 miles for what he said is a well known swap.

It looks like the drivers side one has fired too (not surprising given the damage to the coupe) as the corrugated collar is shorter than it should be. If you plug it in after it's fired you'll get the dredded airbag warning light.

a11y has done the conversion on his VW camper, you could probably hit him up for a good place to advertise the seats to the VW peeps :)

Indeed. Although I quite like my uniqueness :D

If anyone needs it (is it jamiecarpenter who's bought these seats?), I'm pretty sure I've spare pre-tensioners and seatbelt receivers from my Z4 seats. I'd need to check in case I've chucked them out, but I unbolted them and attached the ones from my van to the z4 seats before installing them.

VW guy who purchased mine told me the ratinale was to do with the length and width of runners made them a good floor pan fit and the speats were considered a confortable seat without being too wide to fit what is a pretty narrow can.

I just listed mine on ebay
