Exactly this ... Owner said go for it and it is your car so any yobbo comments would be wrong ! Bloody yob you are, those poor tyres ;-) haha. I have too much sympathy for my car, I don't know if I could ever bring myself to do it. Tbh if you think about it, doing donuts put less stress on most components than cornering at speed which I'm sure you do regularly on a hoon!

You can wipe out pretty much all the understeer on this car easily, you can get rid of a large chunk with 15 quids worth of camber shims, you just need a tweaked alignment and a touch more - neg camber .[/quote]I will follow your advice blindly beedub, any links and alignment figures for me?Beedub said:

No not at all. The first time you do a donut, you will probably just release the throttle and come to a quick stop where you are. What I did there was during the donut, turn the steering to the opposite lock which brings you out of the donut in a slide the opposite way, and you can see I kept the throttle planted during that stage straightening the car just on the steering. Hard to explain but people who have tried it will be able to tell that was all intentional! Haha!
As for the rev limiter no it wasn't bouncing off it the whole time I wouldn't like to do that. Hit the limiter half way through the first one, backed off and might have hit it again briefly on the second one.
Also FYI the car was fully warmed up before hand which is the most important thing

Just watched the vid again, if you watch wit the volume on, you can hear that I wasn't anywhere near the limiter on the second one, just for a second on the 1st one

cheap way to gain meaningful camber without the need for top mounts which can lead to added NVH. ( i run these as well as camber plates)

, combined with the stock scope for adjustment a decent -1.8ish is achievable, this combined with a tweaked alignment and some decent tyres will REALLY combat a decent amount of understeer that is naturally dialled in by bmw to keep the average joe safe, turn in will be improved also.
see.... cheap fix, and so easy to install yourself.
now get ordering, you can pick them up from CA automotive for around 20 quid.
