Yep all happened very quick - wonder if the sports button was on and the driving aids off....! 
Looked a wet track too - what a horrible way to end your ring trip and it looked a lovely coupe too.

Last time I was at The Ring I had a pax lap in a M3 CSL on Toyo R888s in the dry, and it ended up completely sideways at the same spot the Z4MC in the video started to slide. Fortunately, the driver did the right thing and we were on our way as if nothing had happened. I doubt if we would have escaped in damp or wet conditions. IMO The Ring is best given a wide berth in the wet.

You drive at 8-9/10ths and have fun - or you drive at 10-11/10ths and have cheering crowds. They don't nickname that spot "crunchen" for nothing
Most weekends have about a dozen small incidents that don't require a closure, plus another couple that require 30 mins to 4 hour closures.
Don't forget that you can get insurance to cover damage to your car. Mine cost £250 for the 3 days I've just done. However, this will not cover the cost of recovery, barrier damage, nor track closure costs. :thumbsdown:

Although it's not just the damp, greasy, or wet days that catch people out. Here's vidcap from last weekend...
When I was there last year, an Aston Martin had a big smash at Mutkurve in the dry. Ouch! I'd rather drive within my limits and drive 500 miles home. I experienced bearing shell failure there in my Z3MC and had to get the car transported home and that was bad enough with the silver lining that I got a brand new engine FOC from BMW.mmm-five said:
It was bone dry the week I went there. Great place, enjoyed many fun laps. Saw several wrecked cars one white EVO totaled on the first corner 150 yards in front of me. Driver fine. No plans to ever go back. Simply not worth the risk. So many other circuits to try, that are safer and don't have mini busses full of cub scouts circulating.
I would be gutted if that was me. Not sure on the crowd cheering either bit harsh if you ask me.
