Friday appointment didn't show... What a suprise! Ha ha

Sunday guy has postponed and is going to try and come midweek... I have told him not to bother..

Advert finished yesterday...

Nearly 10,000 views on eBay and 179 watchers at the end.. eBay has always been good for me selling various items, but the amount of bell ends and complete timewasters this time has made me have a rethink..

Staggering numbers :? Probably 10/20% curious forum members
After 3 weeks i'm just about to hit 1000 on the V6 ebay classified but only 18 "watchers"
I did have a call last Saturday night around 10-15 from a guy in a Manchester casino who had just cleared £6500 on roulette .
He was one of the watchers but had no cash to buy , , had to disappoint him as car is held with £500 intil 25th April

Crazy numbers, crazy people ... lol...

So it's staying for the time being ...

Or might try it at £15,495..... Ha ha .

Sorry to hear that. And that was even with you asking for no messers!
Shocking that so many don't have the decency to at least cancel their viewing.
Try a higher price - it apparently sometimes happens with property! I've know of sellers raising their prices in line with the press reporting of how much % property has gone up even though they couldn't sell at the lower price previously- sometimes it does actually work.
Or advertise it again at £19k then drop it to £15k and state the price drop :) .

Must admit I was tempted to send a message across to you on eBay stating some daft justification for offering a daft amount - I was going to of course mention my forum name at the end . BUt just couldn't do it to you in case already pi$$$$ed off with the eBay idiots :)

eBay is a nightmare. I just sold my RS6 on there but the amount of people that have wasted my time was unreal. Get ready for all the messages coming through now the advert has ended.

Never tried selling on eBay or have bought a car through it.

I've always used the autotrader and sold to the first person who views and within the 3 week advert time, with no messers. So maybe give it a go next time.

maybe better to consider trading it in? see what they offer - at least then the motive to sell would be something better or new :)

Worse case scenario you are "stuck" with a car most folks would crave 8)
Sometimes better to be happy & content with what you have than unhappy with what you haven't
You could always offload the H&S if you were strapped  :D

Hi having just sold my z4coupe on autotrader, I have come to the conclusion that not meny people will spend over £10k with out the back of a main dealer , :(

I know what you mean.... I could have sold it many times if I wanted to drop £1500 off asking price, but I'm not doing that..

My last 10 cars have been between £10,000 and £17,000 at sale time and the right man always comes along in the end.

Yes hold out for it ,it's a nice car , I only sold mine to give the money to my daughter as a deposit for her house , the bank of mum and dad ,,,,lol.

Staggered this hasn't sold....always interesting to see real world examples of selling cars. Reality is that it's probably a £14.5k car....right?

And to think there is a £50k one being advertised, which when parked side by side wouldn't look that different.

Ive read a few posts and noticed (if im not mistaken) that you have sold this before and then repurchased it.

The question I would ask is do you really want to sell it? If you don't want to sell it you will never be happy with the price.

If lots of people are willing to pay your asking price -10%, isn't that reasonable?

My asking price was £15000

I was prepared to give any prospective buyer £500 for travel expenses, tank of fuel or personalisation etc.

But no, I don't think 10% off my asking price is a reasonable bid....

I could ask £15,495 and knock a grand off if that's seems more reasonable?

My take on it is that £14,500 is not overpriced in the current market, and is one of the cheapest in the country at the moment... If not the cheapest, so why discount further ?

As for whether I want to sell it, well I'm not worried if it doesn't sell... It will just get used as it did yesterday and the day before.
The money is not gonna fall out of a rare car, so that part of it doesn't worry me.

My real problem is that I do get bored quickly with cars, and I like to try new and different models.its something I have done since I passed my test so keeping a car for 12 months is a real rarity for me..
That feeling is waining as I get older, I can't really be arsed so if the coupe stays, it does..

Win win..

I think you nailed it, list for 15500 and knock a grand off :)

Be confident you know it's value, but don't forget other's expect a discount (regardless of pricing).

I'm inclined to think that in your heart you would rather keep it. :driving:

It looks beautiful, and is no doubt we'll maintained, but Let's face it, of the small group of people looking for a Z4MC, and willing to pay £14500, most would probably prefer to spend a bit more for a car not pushing 90k miles, and with genuine BMW wheels. The plate isn't worth anything to most, and the other mods might concern some. It's a pretty niche proposition in an already small market.

Putting it back to standard and listing it a bit cheaper alongside the parts would probably net you more anyway. But you know that, and you haven't done it, so I suspect you'll keep it!
