BMW 2006 (56) Z4M Coupe

One of around 600 M Coupes produced, and the last M car to feature the brilliant S54 engine. Finished in Imola Red with black heated leather. The car also has satellite navigation, Bluetooth handsfree, Bi-Xenon headlight, auto headlights and wipers along with all the other usual items you would expect. There has been an aftermarket aux input added that plays via the CD changer option on the standard audio system.
I have owned the car for the last year and has been a pleasure, but time has come to sell as I don’t get to use it as often as I would like to and my partner is looking for something more economical to run, PX would be possible for the right car (BMW E9x LCI 320/330d M Sport, must have Sat Nav and heated leather)
The car has 135,000 miles, but this will rise slightly as its still currently in use. And is MOT’s until 7/11/21
There is full service history, with a mix of BMW and independents, last service was the expensive Inspection II with only a oil service due next.

1,219 – Running in service – Cooper Chelmsford
12,648 – Oil Service + Brake Fluid – Cooper Chelmsford
26,692 – Inspection I – Cooper Chelmsford
40,666 – Oil Service + Brake Fluid– Cooper Chelmsford
55,897 – Inspection II – Cooper Chelmsford
69,179 – Oil Service + Brake Fluid – PMW LTD
82,496 – Inspection II – Hemingstone Garage, Independent BMW specialist
90,539 – Oil Service + Brake Fluid – BM Sport
102,502 – Inspection I – ETA Motorsport
112,080 – Oil Service – ETA Motorsport
117,751 – Coilovers, powerflex bushes fitted, Alignment carried out – Biddenden Motor Works LTD
124,122 – Inspection II – Biddenden Motor Works LTD
Rear diff pinion seal
Front callipers replaced
Wheel Refurb
Compression test - 175 Psi on all cylinders
Next Service due 500 miles

The car has some slight modifications, including BC Racing coilovers with ride height, damping and front camber adjustment, in addition there are rear adjustable camber arms fitted also. Both front and rear ARB bushes have been changed to Powerflex items along with the rear trailing arm bushes. Wheel spacers are fitted 5mm front and 15mm rear

As with all cars there are some negative points,
The paint and bodywork are consistent with the mileage and a car that has been in daily use. There are a few small car park dings and stone chipping in the usual places.
Front arch liners have been rubbed through by the bumper where the previous owner had large spacers with the standard wheels.
Rod bearings haven't been done, oil lab test was done at 115,000 miles and showed no signs of any issues
Rear diff is slightly noisy, it’s not wining, just a small amount of noise coming on/off throttle.
Coilovers requires 4 new damper inserts, as they knock going over bumps, the drive and handling is unaffected, these are £440 direct from BC Racing
2 keys, but factory remotes don't work, 1 aftermarket fob included

Considering the issues I am asking £11,000 OVNO fitted with the standard wheels, making it the cheapest M Coupe by a large margin. Would make a brilliant driver/track car with the mechanicals fixed and would tidy up nicely with some paintwork also.

The car is located in Amesbury Wiltshire.
£1100 for The Compomotive MO6 wheels which are available by separate negotiation, these are fitted with good Michelin pilot sport 4 tyres
Private plate not included and will be back on its original ‘56’ plate

As she stands (with wheels as per images) even with the miles on her, she looks a cared for - bit of a 'Billy Bargain' @ circa £12k all in..

Heated seats in a Coupe
Cruise control
Sat Nav :censored:

OP:
1. Might be worth adding, what tread depths are on the tyres fitted to the wheels in the images, for those parties interested?
2. Additionally, might be also worth clarifying: are the OE wheels included if you achieve circa £12k for the car, with the wheels as fitted, per the images supplied,- or not?

Best of luck with the sale and I honestly doubt it'll be available, for too long

Thank you for the construction input.

To answer the questions for any persons interested.
The Compomotives wheels would be in addition to the standard wheels for the £1100 on top of the asking price. The tyres on these are 5mm rear and 6mm front. They are pilot sport 4’s

The standard wheels have just legal super sports front and a super sport and Verdstein on the rear with 5mm each, they were were originally removed due to a blowout and bought the best used tyre to put back on so I had a complete spare set to use if required.

OP

Even with ‘just legal’ front tyres and mish-mash of rear tyres INCLUDED, if you get circa £12k for the car as is, plus the 224’s included

It may sway someone to commit to buy...

...Every car for sale, just needs one buyer :driving:

Would be tempted if a part exchange for my montego blue coupe was on the cards...much more practical daily car just saying...

I have sent you a PM regarding your car.
Could you let me have your contact details?
Thanks
Les

Hi Les, apparently it sold yesterday (not a surprise it went quickly). Looks like we both missed out!

I'd agreed to go down and buy it next Saturday, booking transport etc, offered a deposit too but stopped hearing back and just heard it's been traded into a garage as a part exchange. Gutted personally, was very much looking forward to a project like this and I can't justify a low mileage M for track use.

Frustrating, but win-some, lose-some I guess.

I was in the market for a lower mileage Z4m, but then purchased another toy that caught my eye... now I'm saving up the spare change for a decent Z4M again... this would have been a nice cheap way of owning both.

I wouldn't beat yourselves up too much on "missing" out  "mutton dressed as lamb" springs to mind & trading into a dealer means it will undoubtedly surface sometime soon .
Take it for what it is , a 15yr old ZM S54 that has no record of either bottom end or top end overhaul (min £1k-£1200 for the bearing shell replacement ) .
By the sellers admission it requires £400 of parts ( + fitting costs ) to get the suspension back to where it should be .
The 224's require a set of tyres ( £450ish) & most likely a wheel refurb prior ( £250ish )
It has alu trim , always a negative on any ZM
It has paint issues , realistically a front end respray circa £750-£1000 ?
Arch liners need replacing .
The diff has been oil changed but has a whine
Both original keys have issues ? £200 ?

So what do you do as the new owner ?

You have yourself a 135k ZMC , if it was in front of you with absolutely no spend required it would struggle to sell at £13500/£14k ( i'm being generous  )
Spend on the necessary stuff ? You would soon have yourself a "white elephant " albeit Imola red
Risk it & run it into the tarmac until it fails ?

Think yourselves fortunate fellas , into the trade was the best thing for this one unless driven away £9k

Hardly a mutton dressed as a lamb.

This was my old car, I have put close to 50.000 miles on it as a daily driver. No expense spared.

I kinda regretted fitting the coilovers as a change of job turned a 25mile motorway commute into a particularly bad 25 mile B-road commute, meaning I was not enjoying it anymore. Plus, after 5 years of ownership I fancied a change, 4 seats and a V8.

Good luck to the next owner.

Well it is in respect of what looks like a immaculate example of a ZMC in glorious Imola actually has a list of "to do's" that would easily see the car into the price territory of something with far less mileage & less looming spend .
The older these cars get & the leggier they get the game of snakes & ladders will only intensify .
Buying this car even at £11k leaves the new owner chasing his tail ( jmo of course)

Were you the seller?

I guess in response to the others, i had earmarked it for track use and was fed up worrying about mileage, paint, condition etc. I was going to order rod bearings and ARP rod bolts the weekend i picked it up and do the work myself so factoring that cost it in became fairly affordable track/road car.

May find myself without a Z4 after this week! :?

No, I sold it to the OP a year ago. With BC racing coilovers, rear powerflex adjustable arms and powerflex polybushes all around it would have been great for what you wanted.
