stunning :D

Love the struggle, cycled down it once :o

It is a great road to cycle on! You can reach a fair speed coming down! Its just getting up it haha!
we went up the main road - long way round but better than cycling up the struggle.

Speed on the way down was great, until I caught slower cars...

Nice. I was up there this weekend. After a day in the hills on Saturday playing in the snow, just down the road from the pass, near patterdale my friend managed to put the car I was in on its side. Remarkably as it was so slow we managed to right it and drive off :) back to penrith. Still took us 3 hours to get back. Wasn't a good night to be out in those parts.

Haha nice! I heard it was closed and not advisable to go up on saturday night so I think I missed the worst of it but you got the full brunt! ditching the car! What type of car was it!?? But last time I heard it was closed there was about 3-4 inches of snow I managed to get a 320D auto up with run flat summer tyres on.. so depends entirely on your driving experience. Because we get a lot of bad weather around here you just get used to it, doesn't matter what vehicle you have!

Even if its an M! If you look at the first pic and the ice next to the front left wheel was like that pretty much all the way up.

I know that road! Remember hooning down it in a previous car with my bike on the roof, enroute to some MTBing.

Who can name this other road in the Lakes?

Some worrying moments on that road where the uphill hairpins/camber was such that I was getting diagonally opposing 2 wheels off the ground and being left stranded. One of my rear springs broke (again) about 30mins later

That would be Hardknott pass!?? leading to Wrynose Pass?? Another awesome road with incredible scenery.. if im not mistaken is near a Roman fort!? 1 in 3 tho thats a bit steeper! Not surprised you had some worrying moments!! Makes it all the more fun tho! ;)!!

It was sort of an open question as I can't recall exactly what pass it was myself . It was the pass that leads to the Hardknott pass from the south - we didn't even attempt Hardknott Pass after the first pass due to the snow and sheet black ice. Was a couple of years ago now...
