Guys,
snow tires make a huge difference. My Z has the BMW standard Bridgestone Blizzaks. We had some 10 cm of snow on one of mountains here and I drove my Z there, police had blocked the road to the top and redirected everyone onto a small road that was not cleared of snow, with a relatively small gradient and I had no (traction) problems at all. Only prob was that I had to drive with the right a few times off the road in full snow to pass other cars (that is coming from the other directions, I wasnt overtaking the slow ones 8) ) and even then no traction problems (and no DSC/DTC taking over), just my lower spoiler eating snow.
I can definitely recommend the snow tires and am planning on going skiiing with the Z
Cheers

If I get too scared I'll invest in some blizzaks.
