If that was the case and the ANPR couldn't read the plate, how would it know where to send the fine? I don't think CID are going to set up a task force to track down the registered keeper of an illegally spaced number plate.t’s not like in the last century where they actually had to pulled you over to nick you.
Now it’s letter, £90 fine, points I think and also have the plate taken away.
I have gone through many tolls and airport parking with ANPR on illegally spaced plates. They seemed to recognise my reg quite happily when I went to pay the fees.
