Z4 mcoupe as fishing wagon

Had my m coupe for about 7 months now - best car ever owned. BUT

I am just about to start fishing again after a 10 year rest from it. This presents me with a real problem - how do I get my tackle in the car and how do I keep my car interior clean.

The main problem is my rod bag, as I have found the only way to get it in the car, is in the passanger foot well and across the front seat then in between the headrests. Had tried it in the 'boot' and between the head rests but would rub on the head lining - likely to mark it.

As it will be lying across the front seat I am considering buying a pair of nylon seat covers from halfords to make sure I dont mark the seat with the rod bag. I am however concerned that such seat covers may damage the leather.

I will also use a seat cover on the drivers side as I am likley to be a little muddy after fishing and dont want to get the seat dirty - Champagne leather!!!??

Has anybody else tried using such set covers / protectors for fishing trips or similar. Any advice really welcome. Shitting my pants taking the M on a fishing trip.

Sounds like a very worrying problem.

Seriously though, why would you want to stink the car out with fishing gear....

You can certainly pull the odd trout in the Z4M Coupe if that's what you mean? :)
Sorry guys,

That was a very purile first post but I saw the title and just couldn't resist.

Enjoying every drive in my Z4M Coupe it has to be said - Happy motoring!

I use mine when I go marshalling, and it holds my camping gear, fishing (marshalling seat) box, and beer quite well.

I use a set of Rolson seat coverswhen I'm marshalling as the orange probans are usually covered in oil & tyre muck from a day on post. They're cheap enough to be disposable, but you can reuse them if need be. I also carry a spare in my toolkit in case I have a breakdown and have to let some mucky technician sit in it.

Not had to carry anything particularly big in the car though.

Not sure about fishing but had snowboards etc and can double as a very fast works van:

I occasionally fish and have thought of using the Z4 instead of my usual beat up old Mitsubishi but the smelly, sticky clothes/equipment plus the fact that my rods can barely fit, if at all, means i'm better off using my 20 year old Lancer instead!

Get a roadster, put the roof down and go for it. Sorry Coupe drivers, couldn't resist.

Don't worry about a dirty rods and smelly fish, just do it.

A rod case takes care of the rod and a sealed bag will deal with the "fish" smell. A fart is worse and don't tell me you stop the car and get out to do that.
