Z4 M Exhausts fitted on 3.0i

just buy some adjustable hangers, you can really fine tune the muffler tips to perfection..... i use the dkf adjustable hangers.... they are only like 120 quid but really really allow you to get perfect fitment, they are idea for secondary setups like what you've done to just get the last bit right, lots of the these quad conversions see to sit a little funny imo... the hangers allow, side to side and lots of up and down adjustment, more than enough to get your tips tight up to that bumper..

Sounds weird because i'm currently wearing the oem hangers. Why don't the tips get the perfect position as you say?
Any link for these dkf adjustable hangers?

Awesome and very inspiring; this mod is on the top of my list for 2014.
The XS-Power manifold, where did you get it from and does it work for cars with the steering wheel on the correct side?

Looks a rather involved modification. Thanks for sharing it with us. Was the performance difference worth the cost/time?

Was also on the top of my list for a long time.
Couldn't get used to my car with the "fake" quad exhaust style the previous owner had done.
Wanted two mufflers so much.. :fuelfire:

Got the manifolds from my automotive repair shop.
Correct side? You mean left side ? :P
Guess they work on both sides.

I can't even regret.The results are stunning.
More deep engine and exhaust sound + gain of power as I have mentioned.
No exaggerated sounds.Great tone.
I keep enjoying the drive even more.

The cost might shock you if you figure out how much all parts cost in total.
In my sitiation the total cost was slightly less due to some parts like the exhaust pipe catalyst which were in stock in my dealer's shop.
All parts brand new.

surely way more than a custom aftermarket exhaust would have cost...

Aftermarket like supersprint ?  Way less then..!

What headers have you installed? They look very shiny? Did you need to step down the z4m exhaust system to couple up to the headers? I know the z4m has a 2.5" diameter system and I thought the stock header on the 3.0i was 2" so did you need to step down. If so, how was this achieved? Any pics?

Thanks

XS Power manifolds which clasp with the Z4 M Rmfd-exhaust pipe catalyst.

The 3.0i comes with manifolds and catalysts together at the front.

Have XS Power got a better name these days? Remember back in the old MR2 times they had a terrible name for aftermarket manifolds and the like which constantly cracked and poorly fitted!

XS Power specializes in stainless steel race manifolds.
I really dont know much about this company.
The manifolds I installed were brand new designed for the M54 engine and got them at a good price.
Everything so far seems to work perfectly!

OK, so yours is a left hand drive then? Was the exhaust tubing diameter the same on the headers (after the collectors) as the z4m exhaust front section? Is it all 2.5"? I'm asking as I am in the process of putting the z4m system on mine but I changed my headers for E36 M3 headers which is 2" after the collectors, so I'm going to have a step up in diameter by 0.5" and was wondering what kind of effect will that have.
