I had the E85 roadster and the coupe and both were completely trouble free during my ownership, were v economical to run and had a far superior build quality to the current Z4. Sorry completely disagree with you there
The E89s build quality is well on parr and above the old models IMHO, just look at the interior for starters. Every model regardless of make has their archilles heel. Don't forget the E86/86 has had its fair share of build problems and the E89 is no worse. Don't forget also the N20 engine is a new powerplant and has won this years engine of the year award. Personally I'm not a great fan of the engine but I've had no problems with mine and is smooth, responsive and reasonably economical. Compared to alot of other non BMW forums I frequent theres alot worse out there.
If you like the Jags then I can see the Zed isn't for you :wink:
