Hi guys

I am a fan of yellow sports cars and have just seen a Z4 in Atacama Yellow and to me it looks stunning :) I know most people on here will hate it in yellow and think of a poor resale value but damn I do think it looks stunning in that colour, has anyone got one?

Opinions are welcome

Love it, looks great, it's not for everyone though so resale might be more difficult.

Not totally anti yellow in performance cars but i don't like the E89 yellow at all :? not many BMW paint shades i would avoid at all costs but that is one :o

Oh no if mr wilks doesn't like it that does bother me as he does know these cars well :) Maybe it is the three Leffe beers I have just consumed but I do still like it :) I know resale would be dodgy :|

if you like it, go for it  [even if it is an E89  ]

:driving:

I did mean to post it on the E89 forum but if it is any consolation I do have a lovely E85 Roadster  and I love it.

Folks should buy what they like , if it's the yellow then go for it but of all the shades the E89 is available in why would you choose that one :(
I pass one quite regularly a few mins from home & have always thought it a shade not typical of BMW :?
Not sure how it affects resale values but i suspect it could be a bit like selling a pair of brogues with dog s**t on

Oh

Personally i think it looks good on the E89, which is a looker of a machine in any case. Go for it, though just bear in mind on resale it will likely only appeal to a limited audience

Best tell my Dad his car's worth F*** all and I'll give him £20 as it's the wrong colour!

Don't worry him unnecessarily  Hopefully he paid less for it at the off so that should always be considered :P

I'd of had one but wasn't a huge fan of the interior. I've seen a few E93's and E89s sat in the dealership which have flown out when they had them. Mike loves the E89 in yellow and would of rather I got yellow and not a Deep Sea Blue.

One thing that put me off is My sister has a Yellow body kitted up (at factory) polo but the paint is lighter and had been resprayed by VW due to the paint having issues (going green and Orange in places) turns out that's why VW now only give a 2 year paint warranty on yellow, cause it's shite. And due to this I was a little put off too with bmw just incase but it seems to be a much better shade of yellow compared to VW and the R52 mini colour but nowhere near as good as Pheonix Yellow

This... colour combinations rarely actually devalue a car (unless it is green and purple or something), but they may make it take a little longer to sell.

My case for a yellow car...

And my own, the last Porsche I had...

Oh dear no love then but I did expect that :) well I love yellow cars but I know they are rare and the chance of me ending up with one is slim as the one I like is too dear.

2 great examples of how yellow works on high end prestige performance vehicle's built in relatively low numbers
Porsche have always done decent yellow imo , particularly the 993
